Celebrate the Autumn Equinox with a free mindfulness session at the Watershed Nature Center that encourages slowing the pace, breathing with intention, and renewing a connection with the natural world. Mindfulness Coach Meg Krejci will guide a gentle introduction to practices shaped by the season’s themes of regrowth and reflection, showing how time outdoors can support presence, stress relief, and overall well-being. The experience welcomes the elements and includes optional time outside to notice the quiet rhythms of the season. All ages are welcome. Attendance is limited to 20 participants, and the group will meet indoors at the Watershed Nature Center. Please dress for changing conditions. About the guide: Meg Krejci is a certified Level 2 Mindful Outdoor Leadership Guide with decades of experience helping individuals and organizations reduce stress and deepen their relationship with nature. Her training includes Jon Kabat-Zinn’s Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction at the Center for Mindfulness at UMass Medical School. With a background in accounting and international business, she has devoted the last 20 years to guiding people through programs at Masterpeace Studios, a nonprofit based in St. Louis.

Edwardsville Parks and Recreation brings back its Movies in the Park series with a free screening of Wicked: For Good at City Park. Bring a chair or blanket, along with your preferred snacks and beverages, so you can settle in comfortably. If a scheduled film needs to be canceled, a notice will be posted on the Facebook page.

Enjoy a free shED Talk at the Watershed Nature Center featuring Linze Laird of the Great Rivers and Routes Tourism Bureau, focusing on how nature-centered design can foster healthier, more connected community spaces. The program covers different approaches to placemaking, why place matters, and the idea that everyone contributes as a placemaker. Using the Watershed Nature Center as a case study, the talk looks at nature-centered placemaking to inform local perspectives. Attendance is limited to 20 seats and all ages are welcome. This session is held inside the Watershed Welcome Center, and some demonstrations may include optional outdoor experiences if weather allows.

Twice each month, the Clothing Closet welcomes the public without a reservation on the second and fourth Tuesday. On those same days, visitors can also use the food pantry. To keep things fair for everyone, please plan to pick up items for only one household.
