A classic LAN experience returns with a live, in-person Black Ops 2 4v4 tournament at FFC's Life Together Center. Built as a community gaming event for those who miss local multiplayer and couch competition, it combines structured competition with plenty of casual play. Free play areas will showcase favorites such as Halo, Call of Duty Zombies, Mario Kart, Smash Bros, Wii Sports, and Street Fighter, alongside a welcoming atmosphere for meeting other gamers. Players of every ability level are welcome. Tournament registration includes venue access, and a separate venue pass is available for anyone who wants to enjoy free play without competing. Crowes Pasture

Rage Club hosts an intimate living room concert featuring the New England folk duo Crowes Pasture, with support from Nick Lee with special guest Beth Ann Evers, and Ryle Irish with special guest Nick Lee. Crowes Pasture, the duo of Monique Byrne and Andy Rogovin, is known for glowing harmonies, layered banjo and guitar, and storytelling rooted in American folk traditions. Their accolades include two New England Music Awards nominations for Roots Act of the Year and a Best Bluegrass/Country Song win at the 2024 International Acoustic Music Awards, and nearly a dozen of their songs have reached the Top 10 on the Folk Alliance International Folk Chart. They have toured across the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom, appearing at venues such as Club Passim, the Shalin Liu Performance Center, and Rockwood Music Hall, and have been praised by Americana Highways for a classic vocal blend. 6th Annual Juneteenth Celebration

Now in its sixth year, this Juneteenth celebration at the Contemporary Art Center of Peoria features a program of talks, poetry, and live music. National organizing strategist and coalition builder Chama St. Louis-Boone, spoken word poet Constance Jackson, and exhibiting artist Robert Anthony Ketchens will present, with Ketchens discussing paintings that explore the social complexities of the African diaspora. Bloomington-based band Soft Spoken, featuring vocalist Jamika Russell, provides smooth R&B and soul, with support for the band made possible by Weston Meuth. This free, public gathering takes place in the Preston Jackson Gallery on the building’s second floor; use the elevator and select 2R. Refreshments are not provided, but outside food and drinks are welcome. June 20th Wharf Harbor Yacht Club River Run

The third annual River Run features a route with stops at Wharf Harbor, Paradice Beach, Kuchies on the Water, the Storm Shelter at East Port Marina, the East Peoria Boat Club, and the IVY Club. Along the way, participants draw a colored marble at five of the seven stops, and colors are assigned point values at the after party, with a cash prize awarded to the highest total. The celebration continues at Wharf Harbor with bring-your-own beverages, music, food, competitive games with prizes, a 50/50 drawing, and a wet T‑shirt contest offering a cash award. The after party is for ages 21 and up. Sign-in takes place at Wharf Harbor. Boats, motorcycles, and cars are welcome. Admission is $15 for members and $20 for non-members. An Argentine tango practica welcomes dancers at the Contemporary Art Center of Peoria in the second floor art gallery. They practice setting up a sewing machine, changing needles and bobbins, reading patterns, and cutting fabric using a pattern. Garage Band Open Stage

Harmonize Peoria's Garage Band Open Stage returns for a 10-week summer run, welcoming the community to make music together with a different local host band each week. This edition is hosted by Raynah's Little Big Band. Raynah Unes-Reid, a Central Illinois singer-songwriter, blends soul, folk, and modern indie influences, with performances rooted in personal reflection and storytelling. The host band begins with a short set, then the stage opens to anyone who signs up. Participants can play solo, sit in with the hosts, or form a group with other attendees. Total beginners are encouraged to explore the donated instruments even if performing on stage is not the next step yet. Admission is free and all ages are welcome, with priority stage time for artists under 21. A full back line with instruments and gear is provided, and personal equipment is welcome. A dedicated sound person supports the music, creating a friendly, low-pressure environment to play, experiment, and connect. Seating is available. Chips and soda are offered for purchase, and attendees may bring their own chairs and snacks. No alcohol is permitted. Each week features a new host band and a fresh musical vibe, inviting participants and listeners to plug in, jam, and deepen their love for music. Project support comes from Arts Dollars funds provided by the Illinois Arts Council Agency, ArtsPartners of Central Illinois, the National Endowment for the Arts, and the Community Foundation of Central Illinois.

A weekly community donation drive takes place each Thursday, with a new cause highlighted each month. In June the focus is Thirsty Thursdays, encouraging contributions of soft drinks and drinking water. Donating a 2-liter bottle or a case of water, Gatorade, Powerade, or soda provides two hours of jumping for $10. All items collected support local homeless shelters and food pantries. Murder at the 1980s Prom

Teens can take on a whodunit set at a totally 80s prom during an after-hours mystery. The Gladstone High class of 1987 is ready for the big night with big hair and puffy dresses, and just as the prom court is about to be announced, a nominee goes missing. Soon after, star athlete Scott Mahoney is found dead in the locker room. He was not well liked, and participants will sort through clues to figure out who had the motive, means, and opportunity to commit the crime. This program is free for ages 13 to 18 and is suitable for students in grades 7 through 12. Registration is open until space is filled. Pizza will be served before the investigation begins. Kinsey Endurance Challenge 2026

Back for its fourth year in central Illinois, this mountain bike endurance event invites riders to test themselves against the course and the clock. The goal is simple: pick a format and complete as many laps as possible before time expires. Participants can choose a 12 hour challenge on a 10 mile loop, a 6 hour option on the same 10 mile course, or a 3 hour ride on a 5 mile loop. Only laps finished before the official cutoff will count. Recognition will be given to the top three finishers in each division, including male, female, male juniors, and female juniors, with juniors defined as riders 15 and under. Entry is $20, and a current PAMBA membership, individual or family, is required. The event also serves as a PAMBA membership drive that helps support and maintain the trails.

Summer 4’s 6/27 Grass Co-Ed Quads *Cash Payout*

A grass volleyball co-ed quads tournament in the Peoria area takes place at Detweiller Park. Teams play three pool-play matches and are guaranteed at least one playoff match. Competitive and recreational divisions are available, and a cash payout is offered. Teams must keep at least one player of a different gender on the court at all times, such as 3 women and 1 man, 3 men and 1 woman, or an even 2 and 2 split. The team fee is $80. Registration is open, with early-bird pricing available for a limited time.

Enjoy Argentine tango in a relaxed practice setting at the Contemporary Art Center of Peoria’s second-floor gallery. This weekly gathering is intended for dancers who have taken lessons and want time to refine their movement, and it also welcomes complete beginners who plan to attend regularly as a show of commitment to social tango. For this session, Jacob Xavier leads a teaching segment followed by an open practica. Admission is $5 per person, payable in cash with exact change. This free, all-ages open stage from Harmonize Peoria invites the community to make music together with a rotating local host band. Each session begins with a short set from the hosts, then the sign-up list opens so participants can step up to play. Perform solo, collaborate with the host band, or form a group with fellow attendees. Stage time is prioritized for artists under 21, and everyone is welcome to participate or cheer from the audience. A complete backline with instruments and gear is provided, along with professional sound support, and personal equipment is welcome.
