Halloween Illuminations transforms Historic Newburgh’s Rivertown Trail into a glowing, family-friendly walk filled with playful surprises. Begin at the Gene Aurand Trailhead and set your own pace to the Ohio River and back as the woods and the red bridge shimmer with colorful lights, cheerful ghost displays, and whimsical inflatables. Along the way, look for Blackbeard’s ghostly pirate ship, a towering 20-foot pumpkin, the Floating Skeletal Bridal Party, a skeleton baseball scene honoring the Evansville Otters, plus a Ghost Town and a Castle Wall. The trail is fully accessible and welcomes strollers, wheelchairs, and wagons. Expect some waiting before reaching the start. Once on the path, the route is about a mile and typically takes around 30 minutes. Tickets are sold at the entrance and online. Admission is $5 per person, or choose a family five-pack for $20. Children age 2 and under riding in a stroller do not need a ticket. Tickets are valid only for the date purchased, and all sales are final with no refunds or rescheduling. The fifth annual Night of Hope Gala spotlights The Hope Gallery’s mission to expand meaningful work opportunities for adults with autism and other developmental disabilities. The gallery offers practical training and employment in a supportive setting. Volunteers coach team members on interacting with customers, using the register, and handling everyday storefront responsibilities, while also developing creative skills through jewelry, rugs, and especially hallmark mosaics that celebrate individuality. From beginnings at a dining room table, the effort grew into a downtown Newburgh storefront and later a larger location on Evansville’s east side, reaching more than 200 individuals. Community generosity helped add a staff liaison dedicated to personalized support. As a grassroots organization without government funding, The Hope Gallery centers its work on confidence, independence, and purpose. This gala reflects that momentum and a shared commitment to creating opportunity, dignity, and a stronger community.

Celebrate the season at the Grinch Fun Run hosted by Historic Newburgh, Inc. Participants can choose a timed 5K, a one mile run or walk, or a Kids Dash along the Ohio Riverfront in downtown Newburgh, Indiana. A cherished Evansville tradition signals the start of the holidays as this concert returns to Victory Theatre under the baton of Music Director Roger Kalia. The program features festive favorites like Sleigh Ride, The First Noel, and the theme from Elf, along with audience sing-alongs. Returning guest artist Rachel Potter, who appeared in 2015 and 2019, lends her voice to holiday classics and seasonal selections. The Evansville Philharmonic Chorus, the Evansville Children’s Choir, and the North High School Huskettes join the orchestra, welcoming listeners of all ages to share in the music, memories, and magic of the season.
