Comic Quest Evansville hosts an official, sanctioned Union Arena English Re:Zero release event for the Union Arena card game. Preregistration through Bandai TCG+ is required, and capacity is limited to 16 players. Sign ups can be completed online or in store, but registration must be finalized through TCG+. The entry fee is $35, and each participant receives five new Re:Zero booster packs. Matches are best of one and follow the official tournament floor rules, which also outline win conditions. Deck guidelines adhere to sanctioned standards, including use of three action point cards and cards drawn from a single source material. For this release event, players open five Re:Zero booster packs and the cards from those packs become the deck used in play. Prizes come from Bandai’s official Organized Play support. Guests can browse, ask questions, take photos, and enjoy seeing standout colubrids in one place, whether or not they plan to bring home an animal. General admission for the public show day is available in advance and at the door. Advance adult tickets are 12 dollars, with kids ages 7 to 12 at 5 dollars and children 6 and under free. At the door, adults are 15 dollars, kids ages 7 to 12 remain 5 dollars, and children 6 and under are free. Halloween Illuminations transforms Historic Newburgh’s Rivertown Trail into a glowing, family-friendly walk filled with playful surprises. Begin at the Gene Aurand Trailhead and set your own pace to the Ohio River and back as the woods and the red bridge shimmer with colorful lights, cheerful ghost displays, and whimsical inflatables. Along the way, look for Blackbeard’s ghostly pirate ship, a towering 20-foot pumpkin, the Floating Skeletal Bridal Party, a skeleton baseball scene honoring the Evansville Otters, plus a Ghost Town and a Castle Wall. The trail is fully accessible and welcomes strollers, wheelchairs, and wagons. Expect some waiting before reaching the start. Once on the path, the route is about a mile and typically takes around 30 minutes. Tickets are sold at the entrance and online. Admission is $5 per person, or choose a family five-pack for $20. Children age 2 and under riding in a stroller do not need a ticket. Tickets are valid only for the date purchased, and all sales are final with no refunds or rescheduling. Tickets for the Ghostly Hayrides include entry to Halloween Illuminations. This event takes place rain or shine. If high winds or lightning are expected, staff may close the experience, and advance purchasers may receive a reimbursement or the option to attend another evening. Parking is available at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, in downtown public lots, and on nearby streets. Limited accessible parking is offered on-site at the trailhead, and drivers may use the lot to drop off passengers when accessible spaces are full. Please follow the directions of parking volunteers. Proceeds benefit Historic Newburgh, Inc., a 501(c)(3) that supports preservation, economic vitality, and sustainability in downtown Newburgh. The Rivertown Trail is open for this private fundraiser by special permission.

Historic Newburgh presents the 32nd Annual Ghost Walks, sponsored by Diamond Valley Federal Credit Union. This guided outdoor walking tour follows State Street, with check-in and tour departures from Preservation Hall. Groups move through downtown with a guide, stopping along the route to hear stories of the area’s haunted past shared by actors in ghostly roles. The experience emphasizes history and storytelling rather than jump scares, so it is not a haunted house attraction. Tales span eras such as the Civil War, the Great Depression, and the early 1900s, with accounts connected to Farmer’s Bank, the Exchange Hotel, and Hulvershorn’s Coffin Shop, as well as legends of alleged paranormal activity and unusual encounters in historic homes. Tickets are $10 per person, and children 3 and under are free. Quantities are limited and may sell out. Before or after the tour, Halloween Illuminations at the Gene Aurand Trailhead is available for $5 per person or $20 for a family of five.

2026 Historic Newburgh Ghostly Hayrides
Historic Newburgh, Inc. brings back its Ghostly Hayrides, a long-running spooky tradition along the Ohio River. Participants ride through the downtown district as costumed interpreters from another era share local history and eerie legends. Each tour lasts about 50 minutes and travels along Water Street, ending with a walk across the town’s historic red bridge. Tours depart roughly every 20 minutes each evening. All riders need a ticket due to limited space. Tickets are $15 per person, and children age 3 and under may ride at no charge if they remain on an adult’s lap for the entire tour. Every hayride ticket also includes admission to Halloween Illuminations on the same night. No refunds or changes are available after purchase. All tours begin at the Historic Newburgh Trailhead Visitor Center, with public parking at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church.
