Healthpark offers a 12-week small group, supervised exercise program focused on improving gait, balance, stability, and muscle strength to help reduce the risk of falls. Known as B.A.S.E. (Balance Awareness Stability Everywhere), this fall prevention class combines targeted training with education to support safer movement. Participants should be able to walk without heavy reliance on a walker or other mobility devices. The program requires consistent attendance at two one-hour classes each week for 12 weeks, plus six educational sessions or shared medical visits during that period. A physician’s medical clearance is required, and participants consent to pre-program testing to determine eligibility and post-program testing to measure progress. In a pilot group, individuals who completed the class reported fewer falls, increased confidence with less fear of falling, and gains in strength, stamina, and endurance. The cost is tied to the insurance expense for six co-pays to a regular family medical provider, which covers the six education sessions and shared medical appointments with a Lifestyle Medicine Physician.

Participants go behind the scenes, choose an object to research, and create a small exhibit for the museum. They also learn the basics of caring for and restoring objects. Museum admission is free for participants, and a free coffee or hot cocoa is included. Space is limited.

Opportunity Center of Owensboro2026 16th Annual KWC Car/Truck/Jeep Show "A Tribute To Wayne Foster"
At Kentucky Wesleyan College in Owensboro, this long-running car, truck, and jeep showcase honors the late Wayne Foster and introduces an updated format with a broader slate of awards. It welcomes vehicles of every year and model, including unique builds, and features music, vendors, food, raffle drawings, door prizes, and more. The setting is a grassy, level campus lawn with plenty of shade. Registration is available by mail or on site. Early mail-in entries are $20 and include a free T-shirt, while later mail-in and day-of registration are $25. Dash plaques are reserved for the first 200 vehicles. Awards highlight standouts across many categories, including a Best of Show in Wayne Foster’s name and a Coach’s Award, along with recognition for GM and Ford favorites, Tri-Five classics, Corvettes across eras, Mustangs from vintage to current, trucks of all types, MOPAR entries before and after 1970, imports, low riders, shop trucks, non street legal competition vehicles, pre 1949 classics, rat rods, and orphan brands, plus distinctions for club participation and the most unique vehicle. Jeep entries have their own lineup that includes a Top 10, as well as honors for off road builds, SUVs and crossovers, pickups, themed entries, and rat rod Jeeps. Seventy five additional open awards will be presented.

The performance runs 2 hours and 20 minutes with an intermission, and it uses haze, smoke, and flashing lights.
