Experience two shows with the Oz Noy Trio as guitarist Oz Noy teams up with drummer Dave Weckl and organist Brian Charette. Noy, a recording artist with Abstract Logix, brings a groove-driven take on modern jazz that folds in funk, rock, blues, and R&B, drawing on music from across his career. Weckl adds the precision and fire he is known for through work with artists like Chick Corea, Paul Simon, and Madonna, while Charette’s rich organ tone reflects collaborations with Joni Mitchell, Chaka Khan, Jaimoe, and Michael McDonald. Noy’s path began early, performing professionally at 13, playing with leading Israeli artists in his teens, becoming a prominent studio guitarist by his early twenties, and serving for more than two years in the house band of a top Israeli television program. After relocating to New York in 1996, he made a strong mark on the scene with a groove-first approach to instrumental music, working with drummers such as Keith Carlock, Anton Fig, Vinnie Colaiuta, and Dave Weckl, and with bassists including Will Lee, James Genus, and Reggie Washington. Printed guides are available for more than 200 painting designs, or create freely without instructions. Project choices include canvas, wood shapes, wine glasses, paint pouring, and candle making, and all supplies and written guides are included. This flexible format works well for individuals, families, and work groups who want to craft side by side while exploring different projects. Most activities take about one to two hours. Paintings typically need around two hours, and candle projects take about 90 minutes to set up with pickup available later. The closing time is firm, so allow enough time to wrap up your project before the end of the session. Designed for ages 5 and up, with the expectation that children stay engaged in a project throughout the visit. Studio staff can answer questions and provide materials, however step by step lessons are not offered. Making a reservation is appreciated. Outside drinks are not permitted, beverages can be purchased on site, and snacks are allowed.
