Be part of the inaugural group run in Grant County, offered at no cost. Meet in the YMCA lobby and choose from route options of approximately 1 mile, 2.5 miles, or 4.5 miles. Open to all. Childcare is available at no charge for YMCA members and costs $2 for non-members.

All experience levels are welcome, from first-time planters to seasoned growers, and participation is flexible so you can help in ways that feel comfortable. Bring a water bottle, optional gloves, a hat and sunscreen, and any favorite hand tools if you have them. Curiosity and a willingness to learn are encouraged, and an open heart goes a long way. This gathering is part of L4L Community Studios' Community Gatherings initiative, which creates safe spaces that nourish the mind, body, heart, and soul through faith, fitness, food, fellowship, and fun. After the garden session, Family & Friends Park Yoga takes place under the Elmwood Park Pavilion, and registration is encouraged for that activity. Every helping hand makes a difference.

An artisan market brings a range of vendors to the area surrounding the uptown Elwood fountain, held in partnership with The Elwood Main Street Organization. The market welcomes the public to explore and shop. Vendor participation is $10.

The Chief LaFontaine Saddle Club’s 2nd Annual Community Day brings neighbors together for a free, family friendly gathering. Kids can take pony rides, meet animals in a petting zoo, explore touch a truck and touch a bus displays, and capture memories at themed photo spots. Visitors can enjoy food from on-site trucks and browse vendor booths highlighting local goods, creating a lively setting for connection and play. Wampus Milk Daddies bring a six-piece take on Indianapolis rock and jazz fusion, firing off quick, melodic tunes, prog-leaning grooves, and standout musicianship. Their show mixes quirky jazz flavors with rock drive and danceable fusion, staying precise, playful, and slightly left of center.
