Free events in Berea, KY

Set out on a relaxed kayak float suitable for all experience levels at the kayak launch in Lake Reba Park. Someone will be on site to share tips if you want a little guidance. Kayak rentals are free and available on a first come, first served basis.

Auditions are open for The Best Christmas Pageant Ever under the Spotlight on Faith program, directed by Jazzlyn Threlkeld, and hosted at The Spotlight Playhouse in Berea, Kentucky. Participation through Spotlight on Faith is free. Audition materials will include cold readings provided on site, and prepared monologues are welcome but not required. Written by Barbara Robinson, this beloved holiday comedy follows a church pageant thrown into chaos when the notorious Herdman siblings decide to claim the leading roles. What begins as disorder grows into a heartfelt, funny story that brings the community together. The production features roles for adults and children, including the Bradley family, church members, the six Herdman kids, and characters from the Nativity such as Mary, Joseph, the Angel of the Lord, the wise men, shepherds, and an innkeeper. The casting approach is ensemble friendly with room to include additional young performers. Multiple performances are planned, with a break built in so Spotlight on Faith participants can take part in the Berea Christmas Parade. This production is presented in cooperation with Concord Theatricals of New York, NY.

Westley Metcalfe performs live at Chenault Vineyards. Admission is free, and the event takes place in the Welcome Center.

A soccer match will be held at Berea College Soccer Field. Admission is free for all spectators.

Live team trivia hosted by Drew from Questionable Activities Trivia welcomes players of all ages. It is free to play, and prizes are awarded to the winners.
