The course runs for 12 weeks, with participants committing to two one-hour exercise classes each week along with six educational sessions and shared medical visits. To take part, individuals should be able to walk without heavy reliance on a walker or other mobility devices, obtain medical clearance from a physician, and agree to pre-testing to determine eligibility as well as post-testing to track progress. A pilot group reported fewer falls, increased confidence with less fear of falling, and improvements in strength, stamina, and endurance. The 16th annual car, truck, and jeep showcase at Kentucky Wesleyan College features an updated format and awards and serves as an annual tribute to the late Wayne Foster in Owensboro, Kentucky. The gathering is planned rain or shine on a level, grassy campus lawn with plenty of shade. Early mail-in registration is available for $20 and includes a free T-shirt, later mail-in is $25, and day-of registration is $25. The first 200 entries receive dash plaques. Headlining honors include the Best of Show Wayne Foster Award and the Coach’s Award, with a wide range of classes recognizing GM and Ford favorites such as non-Corvette GM, Tri-Five models from 1955 to 1957, Corvette eras split into pre-1980, 1981 to 2019, and 2020 and newer, GM trucks, non-Mustang Fords, Thunderbirds, Mustangs from 1964 to 1980, 1981 to 2019, and 2020 and newer, and Ford trucks. Tickets are sold at the entrance and online for $5 per person, or as a family five-pack for $20. Children age 2 and under riding in a stroller do not need a ticket. Ghostly Hayrides tickets also include admission to Halloween Illuminations. The event is rain or shine, and tickets are nonrefundable and cannot be rescheduled unless organizers close due to high winds or lightning, in which case advance purchases may be reimbursed or honored on another evening. The route is fully accessible, and strollers, wheelchairs, and wagons are welcome. The experience is designed to delight rather than frighten, though lights and sound can be intense for some children and there may be a wait before entering the trail. Only service animals are permitted, and tripods or professional family photo sessions are not allowed. Parking is available at St John the Baptist Catholic Church, in downtown public lots, and on the street. Now in its fifth year, the Night of Hope Gala supports The Hope Gallery and its work creating meaningful employment and purpose for adults with autism and other developmental disabilities. The event highlights a program that blends hands-on job training, real work experience, and a caring setting where people can thrive. Volunteers teach customer service, cash register skills, and the basics of operating a storefront, while also encouraging creativity through jewelry, rugs, and distinctive mosaics that celebrate each person’s uniqueness. The Hope Gallery began in 2021 around a dining room table and quickly grew, opening a first storefront in downtown Newburgh in 2022 before moving to a larger location on the east side of Evansville in 2025. More than 200 individuals have participated so far. Community support has been vital, making it possible to add a liaison dedicated to team members for added individualized support. As a grassroots organization that does not receive government funding, this gala helps sustain opportunities that build confidence, independence, and dignity across the community.

Celebrating the Indiana and Kentucky plant community, this show sets up at Old National Events Plaza in Evansville with a new venue, more vendors and a wide-ranging plant selection. Browse anthuriums, alocasias, rare aroids, begonias, ferns, hoyas, monsteras, philodendrons, peperomias, pothos, succulents and more, plus specialty offerings like aquatics, bonsai and orchids. A VIP option returns with early shopping and vendor exclusive offers. General admission is sold at the door for $10 cash or $12 by credit card.
