Kids can imagine, design, and build with LEGO bricks at the Carnegie Library. Each Wednesday while the library is open, the LEGO collection is available for a relaxed, creative session designed for children ages 6 to 11. An accessible parking space is available on the side of the building, and a wheelchair ramp up the driveway leads to an automatic door. A restroom is available, though the entrance is not ADA compliant. An outdoor screening of How to Train Your Dragon, a PG-rated DreamWorks adventure, will be presented at Peskeompskut Park. Before the film, Reptile Nook offers a live animal presentation that begins with a hands-on lizard encounter and continues with a seated educational segment as the animals are brought around to the audience. The movie follows Hiccup on the island of Berk, where his unlikely friendship with the dragon Toothless challenges long-held traditions. When a powerful danger threatens both dragons and Vikings, their bond becomes the bridge to peace and helps Hiccup grow into a true leader. Admission is free and open to the public, with donations supporting the Turners Falls Thunder Music Boosters. Presented as part of the Summer Movie Series in partnership with Montague Parks and RiverCulture with funding from the MCC Cultural District Grant.

Meet the growers and makers behind the stands, with most offerings produced less than 20 miles away. Music performances, children’s activities, and perks for customers create a lively atmosphere that turns a routine grocery trip into a show.

Attendees will meet at the Round House at the Franklin County Fair, then explore the fair to enjoy its food, fun, and excitement. Senior admission is $10.

Cookie Club is an eight-session afterschool baking program at the Florence Civic Center for ages 7 to 11, with opportunities for ages 12 and up to participate as CITs. Led by teachers in a full kitchen, participants explore the science and technique of cookie making, learning how to measure, mix, cream, fold, and decorate while discovering how ingredient changes affect the final result. Each meeting features a different cookie and a new skill, and everyone brings home a portion of what they baked to share. The cost is $300 and includes cookies to take home each week.

Kids who love animals can explore practical pet care at Critter Club at High Five Books. Through interactive, hands-on activities, they learn useful skills and meet live animal guests.

This 10-session afterschool cooking club empowers kids to plan, cook, and package a full family dinner each week. Designed for ages 7 to 11, with opportunities for ages 12 and up to participate as CITs, the program provides step-by-step, teacher-led instruction using proper kitchen equipment and live cooking. Participants build skills in knife handling, kitchen safety, and core food preparation, then leave with a meal to share at home. Sessions take place at the Florence Civic Center. The full program fee is $375 and includes the weekly take-home food.
