    18th Annual Kayak-a-thon

    Paddle the Connecticut River at the 18th Annual Kayak-a-thon, a signature fundraiser supporting 230 no or low cost outdoor recreation programs across Massachusetts for people of all ages and abilities. Participants can choose a 5 mile route from Hatfield to Northampton or a 12 mile route from Sunderland to Northampton, and kayaks, stand up paddleboards, and canoes are welcome. Registration is required and limited to 100 paddlers, and early registration is encouraged since past years have sold out. Each boat has a $250 fundraising minimum, contributing to a $70,000 goal. The event is rain or shine, and timing or locations may be adjusted if conditions such as high wind, lightning, or high water are forecast to ensure safety. Help with the registration process is available by phone or email.
