A homeschool trip to Wolf Hollow features an educational program focused on the resident wolves, with seating on covered wooden bleachers facing the main enclosure. The presentation explores the history of wolves in the United States, pack behavior and roles, their ecological importance, the Yellowstone reintroduction, and the current status of wolves nationwide, with time for questions throughout. After the talk, participants follow the path to view additional wolf enclosures and can visit the gift shop. Student tickets are $10 and parent or guardian tickets are $12. Payment is made on Venmo, and reservations are confirmed only after payment is received. There are no refunds. If plans change, attendees are responsible for finding someone to take their spot. If capacity is reached, a waitlist will be created. The program requires a minimum of 20 students to run, and many spots are still available. The visitor center and the outdoor wolf viewing area are fully accessible. Younger siblings are welcome, but the outdoor presentation requires children to stay in one place for its duration. Because wolves are sensitive to sound, voices should remain calm, and running along the fence or imitating the animals is not allowed, with a brief group howl reserved for the end. There is no on-site dining, so plan accordingly. Weather permitting, an optional meet-up afterward is at Mass Audubon’s Ipswich River Wildlife Sanctuary, where attendees can bring snacks, outdoor toys, and birdseed.
