Clear out unwanted tech and household gadgets at this electronics recycling event in the parking lot at St. Augustine Parish. Anything with a plug or batteries is welcome, along with reusable bicycles. Items will be processed responsibly for a small fee, and the event takes place rain or shine with residents from any community invited to participate. Fees are $5 per item for computer towers, laptops, DVD players, VCRs, small printers, stereos, radios, alarm clocks, speakers, video game consoles, table lamps, fans, hair dryers, curling irons, projectors, power tools, drills, cameras, clocks, trophies, frying pans, holiday lights, and other small electronics. The $10 category covers small household appliances, vacuum cleaners and robot vacuums, toaster ovens, ceiling fans, floor lamps, air fryers, electric grills, hot plates, small radiators, keyboard pianos, coffee makers, ice makers, sewing machines, car seats, and strollers. The $20 tier includes flat screen computer monitors, microwaves, dehumidifiers, air conditioners, water coolers, large printers and copiers, leaf blowers, chainsaws, heat lamps, artificial Christmas trees, fire extinguishers, and empty propane tanks. Items at $25 each include TVs up to 26 inches, CRT monitors, outdoor grills, and dorm-size refrigerators. For $30 each, bring TVs between 26 and 35 inches, white goods, washing machines, dryers, stoves, dishwashers, large appliances, large yard equipment, treadmills, exercise equipment, snow blowers, lawn mowers, rototillers, large generators, motors, and water tanks. The $35 rate applies to TVs over 36 inches, large refrigerators, and ride-on lawn mowers. Projection TVs are $40 each. Certain items are accepted at no charge, with cash donations appreciated, including cell phones, reusable bicycles, video game media and accessories, wires, cables, chargers, car and truck batteries, DVDs, keyboards, and tablets. On arrival, follow the cones and staff directions, pull close to the truck or dumpster, and feel free to remain in your vehicle while workers unload. Computer hard drives will be destroyed as part of the recycling process, and on-site removal is available for an additional fee. Cash is preferred, and checks are accepted for payments over $30.

This workshop takes place in the hall behind the First Church of Christ on Bradford Common. Artists of all ages, experience levels, and mediums are welcome to drop in, with no advance registration required. Participants can focus on portrait work with a live model or explore still life using a provided setup. A $5 contribution is requested. Mark Hayden, a Copley Master and art teacher, circulates to offer relaxed, one-on-one guidance. Set up an easel or work at a table, on your lap, or on the floor. Please bring your own materials; chairs and tables will be available. The atmosphere encourages camaraderie among both younger and older artists. Those interested in serving as a portrait model can register for a sitting and receive a $25 stipend.

An upbeat celebration of Asian cultures features a bustling marketplace with street food from across the region, including Thai, Vietnamese, Japanese, Korean, and Indian flavors. Browse handmade crafts and artisan gifts, explore fashion, home decor, and lifestyle vendors, and take in cultural performances. Families will find activities for children, along with plenty of food, shopping, and music. There is no charge for entry. Presented by the Nathika Thai-America Cultural Foundation and Nathika Events LLC.

Explore the world of local mushrooms on a guided walk through Moseley Woods, a 16-acre public park with hiking trails and varied habitats overlooking the Merrimack River. Participants will look closely at species that flourish here and in nearby mixed woodlands while learning identification and ecology. The walk is led by Jana Harris of Essex Forays, who is certified in Wild Mushroom Food Safety and is a member of the Boston Mycological Club. She grew up in Czechoslovakia, first learning to forage with her aunt, and later renewed her passion for fungi. Finds will differ with the weather, so the number and types of mushrooms encountered may vary. Wear sturdy shoes and be ready for uneven trail surfaces. Bring water, tick and insect repellent, an identification field guide, and an optional basket. Participants should be in good physical health and comfortable walking on hiking paths with variable terrain.

Set out on a guided kayak outing through the waterways of the Crane Wildlife Refuge, moving along quiet salt marshes, winding tidal rivers, and peaceful estuaries with wide views of the Crane Estate. The experience is arranged as a car-free day trip, with travel covered by a Weekend Commuter Rail Pass and a private van shuttle connecting the Ipswich MBTA Station and the estate. An ACA-certified guide leads the paddle, and essential gear is provided, including a single ocean kayak, paddle, and life preserver. Admission to Crane Beach is included, with free time to enjoy the shore, and a prepackaged snack is provided.

Hands-On History brings interactive learning to the Tsongas Industrial History Center on the third floor of the Boott Cotton Mills Museum. Presented by Lowell National Historical Park and the Tsongas Industrial History Center as part of the City of Lowell’s Bicentennial and the center’s 35th anniversary, this free, drop-in program welcomes all ages to try weaving on a hand loom and take on an engineering challenge inspired by innovations of the Industrial Revolution. Explore the workshop spaces, discover how technology reshaped daily life then and now, and find something hands-on for every curiosity. This series continues on the second Saturday of each month through October.

The record broadens his signature sound with a vivid mix of classic blues, hard rock, funk, soulful pop, and smooth R&B, paired with ever more personal songwriting and expressive vocals. A native of Clarksdale, Mississippi, Ingram first turned heads as a teenager and has since earned international acclaim. His debut, Kingfish, led Billboard’s Blues Albums chart for 91 weeks and brought his first GRAMMY nomination along with three Blues Music Awards, including Album of the Year. The follow-up, 662, captured the GRAMMY and the Blues Music Award for Best Contemporary Blues Album.
