No experience is necessary and beginners are welcome. Participants can prepare by installing the free iNaturalist app and creating an account. The EwA at the Fells project on iNaturalist has documented more than 4,500 species so far, and sharing an iNaturalist username allows observations from the walk to be included in those studies. These are naturalist walks centered on quiet attention and learning from the landscape. Routes may cross sensitive habitats, so pets should remain at home to reduce disturbance to wildlife. Families are encouraged to consider whether the format fits their needs. The walk is lengthy and asks participants to stay with the group, move quietly, and remain attentive, which suits children who are comfortable with that kind of experience.

Gulu-Gulu Café & Bar in Salem becomes a warm gathering place for live music, creativity, and plenty of surprises. Musicians and listeners of all ages are welcome to take part.
