The second annual Pa’lante 5K opens Puerto Rican Parade Weekend with a run or walk through Springfield’s North End, highlighting wellness, culture, and community. The route departs from Kenefick Park and concludes with festivities at Tower Square Park in downtown Springfield, featuring food trucks, beverages, music, and local vendors. All proceeds benefit the Springfield Puerto Rican Parade. This edition introduces a new walk option. Sponsors include White Lion Brewing, Springfield Public Schools, Bacon and Wilson P.C., and Holyoke Community College.

Browse and connect with local artisans offering handcrafted items, decor, coffee, baked goods, and more. Apple picking will be available, and live music will add to the atmosphere. Parking is $5 per vehicle. A rain date is planned.

The White Shanty brings a pop up to the Fern Valley Farms Artisan Fair, serving handcrafted refreshments and baked treats. Visitors can sip ceremonial matcha, enjoy iced lattes or cold brew, try Lotus Energy refreshers, and pair it all with fresh baked goods while browsing the fair. The pop up takes place at Fern Valley Farm in Wilbraham and adds a light, summery vibe to the experience.

Now in its 53rd year, this beloved Mattoon Street arts celebration fills Springfield’s first historic district with creativity and community. Set along a picturesque stretch of restored brick Victorian row houses, the Pioneer Valley’s longest-running arts festival brings together more than 100 artisans, a growing array of artisanal food vendors, and strolling musicians for a lively neighborhood experience. Look for an expanded selection of food offerings this year, with new talent joining the curated lineup. It is an inviting way to browse for unique gifts, gather fresh craft ideas, and enjoy a leisurely walk through a beautiful Victorian streetscape. Mattoon Street sits just off Chestnut Street near the Springfield Museums. Free festival parking is available in the TD Bank lot at Dwight Street and Harrison Avenue, and on-street parking is free on weekends.

The 36th Annual Springfield Puerto Rican Parade honors Puerto Rican culture, traditions, and pride.
