Fans of the series Twin Peaks can gather at HOPE Center for the Arts in Springfield for an evening of conversation focused on the show’s legacy and revival. Cast members Ray Wise, Dana Ashbrook, and Kimmy Robertson appear with Sabrina S. Sutherland, executive producer of Twin Peaks: The Return, and the discussion is moderated by Josh Eisenstadt. The third annual motorcycle ride honoring Angela Santiago brings the community together at Moose Lodge 1849 in Chicopee, MA for a full day of bikes, music, food, and family fun. Xtreme Paintball hosts a Terminator-themed scenario where the battle between humans and machines is underway and the timeline can still be altered to stop Skynet before it goes live. Players pick a side and register for either the Resistance or Skynet. The Resistance is led by John Lake with XO Clive Fernet of Mayhem Company, while Skynet is commanded by Dragon of The Select Few with Matt Santos of East Coast Hunters. The practice emphasizes inclusive language, steady encouragement, and a trauma-sensitive approach to help settle the mind, soothe the nervous system, and build strength, balance, and flexibility across body, mind, and heart. Sheila chose the name to reflect the spacious feel of the flow. An optional visit time follows the practice. Registration works a little differently because Sheila volunteers with The Phoenix. Walk-ins can be registered at the door. Run the Runway returns with a rare chance to move at your own pace along a real runway. Organized by the Westover Galaxy Community Council with support from the Westover Metropolitan Airport team and military partners at Westover Air Reserve Base, this experience invites participants to run or walk on the runway at the country’s largest air reserve base. Registration will open ahead of the event. There is a shirt deadline, and anyone registering after that point may not be guaranteed a shirt or the preferred size. Registration prices increase after the deadline. Please be cautious of posts claiming to accept vendor registrations, since only information from the Westover Galaxy Community Council is official.

Teams work together through an endurance-focused challenge, and participants can earn a Badge of Strength as they put their skills to the test.

The Autumn meeting of the Agawam Historical Association features a talk by historical archaeologist Bob Drinkwater that looks at the makers behind the gravestones found in Agawam’s oldest burial grounds. Drawing on his recent book about western Massachusetts carvers active from the early 1700s to the mid 1800s, he will connect distinctive carving styles to specific artisans and highlight examples in Agawam’s historic cemeteries, where nearly five dozen Revolutionary War veterans are interred. Drinkwater holds an MA in anthropology from UMass Amherst and has spent more than four decades documenting, photographing, and reporting on eighteenth and early nineteenth century gravestones and the stonecutters of the Connecticut River Valley. As a charter member of the Association for Gravestone Studies, he has published scholarly articles, organized and presented at conferences, and served in leadership roles. Candlelight transforms the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame in Springfield into an intimate setting for a string quartet to reinterpret iconic 80s rock anthems by candlelight. The 60 minute performance features favorites such as Africa by Toto, I’m Still Standing by Elton John, Every Breath You Take by The Police, Beat It by Michael Jackson, Everywhere by Fleetwood Mac, The Logical Song by Supertramp, Sweet Dreams by Eurythmics, One by Metallica, Under Pressure by Queen and David Bowie, With Or Without You by U2, and Sweet Child O’ Mine by Guns N’ Roses. Elsewhere in Athens, a troupe of artisans rehearses a play for the wedding of Theseus and Hippolyta, choosing the same forest for their secret practice. That wood is a realm of magic ruled by Oberon and Titania, and even among the fairies things are unsettled, leading to mischief and mix-ups. The production uses gender-blind casting to highlight queer themes and delves into the unruly nature of love, desire, friendship, possession, jealousy, and enchantment. Directed by Isabella Bonavita, with dramaturgy by Mal Sillars. Produced by Why’s It Gotta Be? Theater Group, with costumes by Giganta Smalls and concept art by Mimi Weatherbee.
