The second annual Pa’lante 5K opens Puerto Rican Parade Weekend with a run or walk through Springfield’s North End, highlighting wellness, culture, and community. The route departs from Kenefick Park and concludes with festivities at Tower Square Park in downtown Springfield, featuring food trucks, beverages, music, and local vendors. All proceeds benefit the Springfield Puerto Rican Parade. This edition introduces a new walk option. This golf tournament serves as the signature annual fundraiser for Christian & Brian’s House. Established in 2020 to honor Christian Diaz and Brian Metzger, the sober living program has grown with strong community backing, helping hundreds of men find stability and support in recovery while advancing plans to open a women’s house in the area. Proceeds from the event sustain this mission and its continued growth. A reception will follow at Nathan Bill’s to close the day and acknowledge the ongoing support that makes this work possible.

RAD Springfield offers a community-focused bike shop where you can bring a bicycle for repair or donate one you no longer need. Technicians renew donated bikes for resale or to be returned to neighbors through community efforts, and in many cases residents who need transportation receive a bike at no cost. Volunteers are welcome, whether you want to learn repair basics or contribute existing skills to help others. The setting is welcoming, multicultural, and open to all ages. This is a drop-in format, and registration is not required.
