This lively staging of a globally popular musical celebrates teenage life through the story of Sandy, a new student at Rydell High, and Danny, head of the Greasers, as they and their friends navigate romance, peer pressure, angst, and personal change. Multiple performances are scheduled. To keep performers, crew, and audiences comfortable, the production has been relocated from the Enfield Annex to the air-conditioned theater at Temple Beth El in Springfield, MA, near the Longmeadow line and Forest Park and close to Interstate 91 and Route 5. The Foundation for TJO Animals celebrates a decade of Pets Rock with an afternoon concert that raises funds for animals cared for through the Thomas J. O’Connor Animal Control and Adoption Center. The lineup features live performances by Project 267, Tough Customer, and The Berkshires, with Pat Kelly from Rock 102.1 serving as emcee. Food trucks on site include Madd Eatz, Crave, Sweet Treats 413, Citrus & Soiree, and Squirrel, A Dog Bistro. Expect vendors, raffles, a cash bar, and the popular Booze Toss game. Hard Road, his most personal and far-reaching project, reflects a path from standout local talent to a global standard-bearer for a new generation of blues. His playing honors influences like B.B. King, Albert King, and Buddy Guy, and he broadens the sound by blending funk, soul, hip hop, pop, and jazz into a modern fusion. His debut album, Kingfish, earned a Grammy nomination and led the Billboard Blues chart for 91 weeks. The follow-up, 662, named for his Mississippi area code, won the 2022 Grammy for Best Contemporary Blues Album. Live in London captured a sold-out performance and received another Grammy nomination, reinforcing his reputation as a commanding live artist.

Designed for little music lovers and their caregivers, this 30 minute program features singing, clapping, and stomping together to well loved children’s songs. No registration is required and walk ins are welcome. During the warmer months, when it is at least 55 degrees, dry, and not too windy, the program takes place on the lawn.
