In North America, 97 percent of land birds depend on animal protein, mostly insects, to feed their young, and many insects require specific native host plants to reproduce, so strengthening plant diversity is vital for bird conservation. Volunteers will remove invasive plants and enhance habitat variety. Tools and instruction will be available. Bringing leather work gloves is recommended, with loaner pairs on hand. Wear long pants, tall socks, and closed toe shoes or boots. Meet at the preserve entrance on Bolla Road between Crane and Stony Creek Roads.
