Cousin Curtiss delivers gritty Americana rock steeped in soul, now supercharged by the electric guitar firepower of Harrison B. Together they craft a huge, full-tilt sound with just two players, racing through bluesy passages at bluegrass clip, unleashing whirlwind acoustic guitar, searing harmonica, and high-energy solos, all locked to a driving kick drum pulse. Presented as part of The Ark’s Artist Spotlight Series with support from Ford Philanthropy, this performance is available in person and also via livestream on The Ark’s Facebook and YouTube channels. Devon Gilfillian brings the Time Will Tell Tour to the stage with songs from his third studio album, a project shaped by life’s highs and lows. Recorded at RCA Studio A in Nashville, it was cut live to tape using varispeed, with most vocals captured in a single pass. Gilfillian co-wrote and produced alongside longtime drummer and friend Jonathan Smalt, with Neal H Pogue, whose credits include Tyler the Creator and OutKast, serving as executive producer. The music threads soul through a blend of rock, funk, and country, pairing candid reflections on missteps and fragility with a hard-earned sense of perseverance and gratitude. Jon Muq opens the show. Born in Uganda and now based in Austin, he treats music as an ongoing conversation with the world, blending African and western influences into songs offered as intimate gifts that inspire reflection and resilience. He aims for joyful, personally resonant pieces that can meet listeners wherever they are. Experiences from childhood in Uganda and life in America inform a perspective that seeks common ground for those with much or with little. His debut album was made with producer Dan Auerbach, and his touring history includes performances with Billy Joel, Norah Jones, Mavis Staples, Amythyst Kiah, Corinne Bailey Rae, and others.

Each date features a changing selection of local food trucks serving tacos, barbecue, sweet treats, and flavors from around the world. Classic Meets Cool blends classical, jazz, and pop with brand new pieces shaped by country, soul, and funk, offering an easy entry point for listeners of every background, from kids and grandparents to the musically skeptical. The program moves from I Want You Back by the Jackson 5 arranged by B. C. P. Ryan and Nursery Rhymes arranged by B. C. P. Ryan to Suite Thing, Op. 2 by B. C. P. Ryan with its movements Out for Delivery, Purdie Please, If I Don’t See You Again, and Flash in the Pan, along with Happy by Pharrell Williams. After intermission, the spotlight turns to Suite Bergamesque, L. 75 by Claude Debussy featuring Clair de lune, followed by The Holberg Suite, Op. 40 by Edvard Grieg opening with Praeludium, James P. Johnson’s Snowy Morning Blues, My One and Only Love by Guy Wood arranged by D. Ryan, and Oscar Peterson’s Blues Etude. The aim is simple and joyful, revealing just how thrilling a single piano can be.

Paula Cole returns to the stage with THIS FIRE: 30, a special anniversary tour honoring three decades of her album This Fire. A Grammy-winning singer and songwriter known for candid lyrics and a sound that crosses genres, she first earned wide attention with music that felt personal yet resonated broadly. For this tour she performs This Fire in full, revisiting songs that helped define their moment and bringing fresh nuance and power to each one. The concert is designed to be intimate and emotionally charged, staying true to the album’s spirit while reflecting the growth of her artistry over the years. Reaching more than 50 markets across the United States, the United Kingdom, and Europe, THIS FIRE: 30 marks one of Cole’s most expansive runs in recent years and celebrates a classic release along with the enduring connection it forged with listeners worldwide. On the Rocks Trio brings a mix of country, classic rock, and other crowd favorites to Altrusa Park in the heart of Downtown Monroe. The Atomic Cafe returns to Uncle Lyle’s Tavern & Grill with a live set that revisits the 80s alternative tracks they performed during their University of Michigan days, mixed with new selections and a few Michigan songs. The performance blends nostalgia with fresh material for a spirited mix of familiar sounds and new picks.

Settle in for a night of modern Americana as Joe Pug and Willie Watson share the spotlight, blending vivid songwriting with deep folk roots. Joe Pug left college, worked as a carpenter, and broke into Chicago’s music scene, and since 2008 he has released acclaimed albums and toured across the United States and abroad. His lyrics carry a raw intensity that has earned high praise, with critics drawing lines to the grit of Tom Waits, the stark edge of Warren Zevon, and Tom Wilson, and noting that only a handful of songwriters such as Dylan, Waits, Ritter, and Prine make fitting points of comparison. Willie Watson traces his path to an epiphany in an apple orchard as a teenager, a moment that soon led to the founding of Old Crow Medicine Show. After collaborations with David Rawlings and Gillian Welch and two Folk Singer records devoted to traditional material, he steps forward with a self-titled album of original songs, sharing tales of heartbreak, hard lessons, and hope with a clear rural tenor. He continues to honor the tradition with favorites like Mole in the Ground and Stan Rogers’ Harris and the Mare, and he revisits that formative orchard night in the talking gospel piece Reap ’em in the Valley, which closes his debut as a songwriter.

Lenawee Pride returns for its seventh year in Lenawee County with a community celebration in Downtown Adrian. The event honors the LGBTQIA+ community and its history, working to create a welcoming, empowering, and inclusive space for everyone while acknowledging those who paved the way. The day features a full slate of entertainment and activities that includes a DJ, drag and other queer performances, vendors, LGBTQIA+ history, local service providers and organizations, food trucks, and a Shop & Strut presented with allied businesses. Headliner Baddie Brooks leads the show, with live music from Hornet's Daughter. Cypressene Fitness brings line dancing, and Colorful Events offers face painting. W4 Entertainment provides DJ, sound, and stage production. Drag entertainers include Virgil ciel, Nika Fierce, Solo Jackson, Cherri the Khimera, Fantasthma, and Gizelle DeVaux. More than 40 vendors and organizations will be on site, and food trucks include Rock Yo Taco and Bussin' Bowls. Participating downtown businesses will be announced.

An (Un-)Plugged benefit music open mic raising funds for UNICEF. Every donation collected supports UNICEF. CiaoDiPao welcomes newcomers with a first drink. An optional plug-in setup will be available using The Can street amp and several panels, so performers can play unplugged or plug in if they prefer. Musicians can sign up before the music begins.

The Dan Tyminski Band brings the artistry of a leading figure in contemporary bluegrass to the stage. Tyminski’s musical path began in childhood at fiddle contests, square dances, and bluegrass festivals across New England, shaping a lifelong passion for live performance. Across more than three decades, he has made an impact well beyond bluegrass, providing the singing voice behind George Clooney’s performance of the Stanley Brothers classic I Am A Man of Constant Sorrow in the film O Brother, Where Art Thou? and collaborating with Avicii on Hey Brother, a worldwide hit with over a billion streams. His solo projects and years with Alison Krauss and Union Station have produced a rich collection of acclaimed recordings. His live shows with the Dan Tyminski Band have become favorites among bluegrass fans and regularly draw interest from listeners across genres. A prolific songwriter, he has written with Monty Criswell, Phillip Lammonds, Kristian Bush, Ashley Monroe, Chris Stapleton, and others. Tyminski has earned 14 Grammy Awards and is a four-time Male Vocalist of the Year honoree from the International Bluegrass Music Association.
