Chops’ Day of Pan brings the vibrant sound of steel drums to Minnesota with two free concerts featuring more than 100 performers across six ensembles. Internationally renowned pannist Liam Teague, often called the Paganini of the Steelpan, leads the celebration. A native of Trinidad and Tobago and Head of Steelpan Studies at Northern Illinois University, he has showcased the possibilities of the instrument around the world. The evening program begins with League Night Jazz, followed by the Chops Pan Camp Ensembles performing alongside Liam Teague to share what they learned during camp. The night concludes with local steel drum bands Panatics, Tin Cups, and Pan-Handlers.

The four-story rotunda will become a temporary dance arena, showcasing dancing, drumming, and Native American culture ahead of the SMSC Wacipi in Shakopee.
