Zorongo Flamenco Dance Theatre brings flamenco to the Lake Harriet Bandshell. The focus is on building confidence, creativity, and teamwork in a friendly setting that blends music, collaboration, and outdoor play. Throughout the week, campers practice in small bands with guidance from instructors as they learn songs they can continue at home, sing together, explore simple songwriting and lyric ideas, and take on rhythm and coordination challenges. They also spend time outside with group games at nearby Bryant Park. Activities rotate to fit elementary-age attention spans, with short breaks and consistent staff supervision indoors and out. A typical day features group warmups and rhythm activities, step-by-step ukulele instruction, band rehearsals, creative projects, outdoor games and movement time, snack and lunch breaks, and preparation for the final performance. To be prepared, participants should bring a packed lunch, a water bottle, and snacks, wear comfortable clothes suited to indoor and outdoor activities, and consider sunscreen for outdoor periods. Class size is limited to 12 participants, with a minimum enrollment of 6. Tuition is $299 and a $125 deposit applies toward that amount and reserves a seat. If the minimum is not met, families may move to another week or receive a full refund. The remaining balance is due before the program begins.

At MetroNOME, guitarist Dean Magraw and tabla player Suwal Singh present a duo performance that highlights the lively conversation between strings and percussion. Rhythmic tabla patterns intertwine with shimmering guitar tones, moving through melody and groove with feeling that ranges from playful to deeply reflective, all with a welcoming, restorative spirit. Dean Magraw is a multifaceted musician whose work spans playing, composing, arranging, producing, and recording, with a style that resists easy categorization. He spent 15 years in a duo with mandolinist Peter Ostroushko and has collaborated with Masahiro Nitta on shamisen, violinist Nigel Kennedy, and vina artist Nirmala Rajasekar, as well as vocalists Bruce Henry, Ruth MacKenzie, and Claudia Schmidt. His work also includes performing with the Irish group Altan. In the jazz world, he has played with Chris Bates and Jay Epstein as Red Planet since 2002 and more recently formed BluLuna. Suwal Singh contributes widely to Minnesota’s music landscape through projects such as SitarTabla focused on Eastern classical traditions, MoMoSauce with Nepali music, Yeti Steady exploring avant‑garde soundscapes, Jest in pop rock, and MajMin in world music. His collaborations span many local artists, with appearances at stages including Jazz Central Studios, Icehouse, the Janet Wallace Fine Arts Center, the Berlin Jazz Club, KFAI, Landmark Center, and the Dunsmore Jazz Room.

The Rolling Stoners deliver a Minnesota-grown tribute to The Rolling Stones that feels like a full-throttle rock and roll show, not just a set of covers.
