Every Friday brings free live music to Buck ’54 Bar & Grill as part of a weekly series featuring local singers, songwriters, and musicians. In spring, summer, and fall, performances take place outside with views of Buck Hill’s rolling green hills and sunset backdrops, and they move indoors during the winter months. The lineup also features Twin Cities standouts L.A. Buckner & Big Homie, Bdifferent, Bakari Jackson, BdotCroc, Jhadiya Steele and The Normandale Jazz Alumni. GenerationNOW Entertainment, the official DJ program for the Minnesota Timberwolves and Minnesota Lynx, will keep the energy high with sets from DJ Miss Brit, DJ Sota and DJ Mickey Breeze. The program will be hosted by Sanni Brown from Carbon Sound. Admission is free and open to all ages. Enjoy a free concert by the First John Philip Sousa Memorial Band, a Minnesota-based concert band that has been performing since 1970. The show takes place in the Centennial Lakes Park Maetzold Amphitheater at 7:00 PM, and you’re welcome to bring a blanket or lawn chairs to enjoy the music from the lawn. Picnics are allowed (no alcohol), and popcorn, ice cream, and beverages will be available for sale.

Kids spend a week building their own ukulele bands, learning real songs, choosing a band name, designing a poster and logo, and wrapping it all up with a concert for family and friends at the end of the session. The camp welcomes ages 7 to 12, no prior experience is required, and ukuleles are provided for use during camp. The emphasis is on confidence, creativity, and teamwork in a friendly, supportive setting. Each day blends music, movement, and creative projects so campers stay engaged without feeling overwhelmed. Activities include group warmups and rhythm practice, step-by-step ukulele lessons, small-band rehearsals with teacher guidance, singing and music games, simple songwriting and lyric work, and group rhythm and coordination challenges. Campers also enjoy daily outdoor play and group games at nearby Bryant Park, and staff supervise all indoor and outdoor portions of the day. Families can expect a practical routine with snack and lunch breaks, short rests between activities, and ongoing rehearsal to prepare for the closing performance. Campers should bring a packed lunch, a water bottle, morning and afternoon snacks, comfortable clothing suitable for indoor and outdoor time, and sunscreen is recommended for outdoor play. Enrollment is kept small with a maximum of 12 participants and runs with a minimum of 6. Tuition is $299, and a $125 deposit reserves a spot and is applied to tuition, with the remaining balance due before camp begins. If the minimum enrollment is not met, families may transfer to another week or receive a full refund.

This is part of the Centennial Lakes Park Youth Entertainment Series, with concerts held at 10:00 AM on Tuesdays and Thursdays at the Maetzold Amphitheater. Seating is tiered, and you can bring a blanket or lawn chair to relax on the lawn. Picnics are welcome, and there’s no alcohol allowed. Free parking is available near Hughes Pavilion and also across from the amphitheater in the Centennial Lakes Office Park on West 76th Street.

Bloomington hosts the PT on the Patio finale with a parking lot celebration at NorthStar Tavern, presented by Pacifico.
