The 50th running of the Mount Helena Run features a 5.6 mile, 9 kilometer course that begins on historic Last Chance Gulch in downtown Helena. The route quickly transitions from city streets to mountain trails in Mt. Helena City Park, climbing 1,300 feet from the starting line to the top of Mt. Helena with views of Helena, Prickly Pear Valley, and the Elkhorn and Belt Mountains. After reaching the summit, the course descends back to the finish on Last Chance Gulch.
