Dungeons & Dragons 5-Week New & Learning Player Workshop Series

Hosted at Lewis and Clark Brewing Company, this five-week workshop is designed for adults who are new to Dungeons & Dragons or still learning the game. Each session builds on the last, guiding players through character creation, roleplaying choices, dice rolling, and core mechanics in a supportive setting. The opening week focuses on imagining and building a character. Participants explore classes, backgrounds, species, and abilities, then record everything on a character sheet, assign ability scores with dice, choose equipment and spells, and learn the basics of movement, initiative, actions, and in-character interactions with other players and NPCs. In the second week, the emphasis turns to forming balanced adventuring parties. Groups recruit teammates, meet their Dungeon Masters, and take part in a session zero that introduces questing, encounters, combat, and how dice influence outcomes. Week three features a first level adventure that highlights area effects, spellcasting, and saving throws, followed by leveling up in preparation for the next stage. The fourth week delivers a second level adventure with intermediate combat concepts such as attacks of opportunity, reactions, sneak attacks, advantage and disadvantage, along with cover, difficult terrain, and advanced movement. By the end of this session, characters reach third level and gain subclass features. The final week ties everything together in a third level adventure that emphasizes tactics along with newly unlocked spells and combat abilities. Pricing is $25 per week for those attending the full five-week series, and each week includes a beverage such as a soda or beer. Drop-in tickets may be available each week at $30. Dungeons & Dragons is a Wizards of the Coast trademark.

Dungeons & Dragons Workshop Series

A five-week workshop series at Lewis and Clark Brewing Company introduces new and learning adults to the Dungeons & Dragons role playing game. Each session builds on the last and covers character creation, roleplaying, dice rolls, and core game mechanics in a supportive environment. The cost is $25 per week for the full series and includes a beverage each week, with soda or beer options. Drop-in tickets may also be available at $30 per week. Week 1 focuses on character concepts, classes, origins, and abilities using the Player’s Handbook. Participants create a unique character, transfer details to a character sheet, assign ability scores with the dice roll method, choose equipment and spells, then learn the board, movement, initiative, combat, actions, and the basics of in-character interaction with other players and NPCs. Week 2 explores party composition and effective group building. Players recruit teammates, meet their Dungeon Masters, and take part in a session zero that includes first meetings, questing, encounters, combat, and dice rolls. In Week 3, DMs lead a first level adventure that emphasizes area of effect, spellcasting, and saving throws. Players then learn how to level up in preparation for added challenges. Week 4 moves into intermediate combat during a second level adventure, covering attacks of opportunity, reactions, sneak attacks, advantage and disadvantage, with potential encounters involving cover, difficult terrain, and advanced movement. Characters reach third level by the end and gain additional depth through subclasses. Week 5 ties everything together in a third level adventure that highlights newly unlocked spells and combat abilities. Dungeons & Dragons is a trademark of Wizards of the Coast.
