Picnic tables and chairs are provided, and guests are welcome to bring blankets or additional seating. Outside food and drinks are not permitted. Popcorn can be purchased, and food and beverages are available from the Seoul Food Meat Co menu. Families can enjoy the playground and game area at their own risk, with shared recreation toys available. Children should not be left unattended, and for health and safety, proper clothing is required both inside and outside the restaurant. Dogs must remain on a leash when outside of the dog park, and animals are not allowed inside the restaurant. On certain dates, the courtyard hosts special happenings in place of a movie, such as the Asian Night Market with food trucks, a pop up market, a Meet the Artist room, and a karaoke singalong, or Fiesta Friday with Latin food trucks, a pop up market, a Kids Corner, special performances, and dancing.

Timed with National Ghost Hunting Day, the festival invites curious minds to explore a lively vendor market, enjoy activities on the grounds including an egg-hunt style ghost search designed for children, and listen to talks from paranormal investigators, historians, and storytellers who dig into the region’s mysteries. As night falls, members of CAPS lead a scientific-focused ghost hunt across Historic Rosedale’s more than 200 year old house and grounds. Investigative equipment is available to borrow, and the search spans the grounds and cellar, with a more intimate investigation inside the home offered for an additional ticket fee. Ticket options are available for the festival, for the grounds or house investigations, or as a bundled package that includes all three. Vendor and club tables are also available and include a table with two chairs. Every ticket sold helps protect and preserve this remarkable landmark.

Pink Pop Collective presents a pop-up market at Urban District Market and in the Seoul Food courtyard, part of a year-round series highlighting local shopping. This installment is El Mercadito. Admission is free, and any shopping or food and drink purchases are paid individually. The market will take place regardless of the weather. Complimentary parking is available on site and shared with Seoul Food Mill District, and the nearest light rail stop is 25th Street. Dinner and drinks are available on site while you browse.

Explore Charlotte’s second-oldest residence on a guided tour of the 1815 Historic Rosedale house. Experienced interpreters lead you through the 15-room Federal period home to illuminate daily life in the antebellum era while highlighting the architecture and decorative arts of this carefully restored museum. The experience also includes an introduction to the African American Legacy Project and a look at rotating exhibits. Plan about 15 minutes for parking and check-in at the Welcome Center. Tours begin promptly and run 50 to 60 minutes. Set aside another 15 to 30 minutes for a self-guided stroll through the gardens and grounds, including the reconstructed blacksmith shop. Advance tickets are recommended. Tour tickets include access to the grounds, so there is no separate grounds admission. Tours are offered on Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, and most Saturdays. Tours run rain or shine and are nonrefundable.

Dr. Temple Grandin visits Charlotte, NC for a presentation designed for educators, parents, therapists, and caregivers. She will share practical ways to use schedules and other tools to help students on the autism spectrum succeed with classwork, and she will discuss workable paths for real-world challenges such as job searches, volunteer roles, tutoring, and test taking. Attendees can explore differences among three main styles of thinking and the strengths each offers, the value of working collaboratively, and why checklists can be so effective. Additional topics include the importance of mentors, how artificial intelligence may shape career choices for autistic individuals, and approaches for addressing fear when it becomes a dominant emotion. Grandin holds a PhD in Animal Science from the University of Illinois and is a professor at Colorado State University. Recognized worldwide for her insights as an autistic advocate and as a leader in animal behavior, she helped transform livestock handling and improve the quality of life for agricultural animals. Her books include Autism: The Way I See It, Different, Not Less, Visual Thinking, and The Outdoor Scientist. Her portrait is in the National Portrait Gallery at the Smithsonian. She lives in Fort Collins, Colorado. Continuing education credits are available.

The program includes a timed 5K alongside a 1K family roll and stroll, a race village featuring local businesses and vendors, raffle prizes, and an awards ceremony after the finish. Open to all, participants may run, walk, roll, or cheer from the sidelines. Families and friends are welcome, strollers are permitted, and leashed pets are welcome. It goes beyond a race, offering connection and hope throughout the experience.
