Coyote Book Club | Latinx Literature

    Winston-Salem · The DOSE Collective, 205 W 6th St

    Free

Coyote Book Club is a free, monthly hybrid gathering led by poet and educator Petra Salazar that centers Latinx literature in a relaxed, low-pressure setting. It blends the spirit of a casual happy hour with the focus of a study group, creating an accessible space where philosophy, poetry, and praxis meet en la resolana for meaningful pláticas. Conversations invite participants to reflect on the complexities of the global polycrisis, drawing on key Latinx concepts such as zozobra, nepantla, and susto. There is no expectation to finish every page. Skimming or getting familiar with the book’s main ideas is welcome. If finding a copy of the text is challenging, reaching out directly is encouraged. The format offers both in-person and online participation, and admission is free. To keep the atmosphere creative and comfortable, attendees are welcome to bring the reading, a handiwork or craft project, favorite snacks, and a drink.
