The City of Mount Holly is partnering with The Blood Connection for a community blood drive at Tuckaseege Park. Participants are welcome to sign up to donate. A single donation can support as many as three people, and donors will receive a gift card as a thank you. Eligible donors are at least 16 years old, weigh 110 pounds or more, bring a valid ID, and are in good overall health.

At Innovation Barn in Charlotte, Repair Café brings neighbors together to revive broken household items while learning practical DIY skills that keep useful things out of the landfill. Friendly volunteer repair coaches work alongside attendees to guide the process, and no prior experience is needed, just curiosity and the items that need attention. Participants stay with their belongings as troubleshooting and fixes happen together, making this a do-it-together experience rather than a drop off. Volunteers have skills across many common home repairs and provide tools. Limited replacement parts may be available, and if a specialized component is required, the item can be brought back once the part is secured. For safety, hazardous items are not accepted, including firearms, microwaves, or similar risks. Volunteers are community repairers rather than licensed specialists, and highly specialized work such as fine art restoration should be handled by a professional. Everyone remains with their item throughout the process. Repair Café is part of a global movement that began in Amsterdam in 2009 and now includes more than 3,000 locations focused on reducing waste, sharing skills, and building community through hands-on learning. Repair Café Charlotte launched in 2024 and continues with regular gatherings at Innovation Barn throughout 2026, offering a chance to fix something, pick up new skills, and connect with a growing local repair community.

The Soft Return is a free, bi-weekly music therapy gathering for postpartum caregivers and their infants, created to foster restorative, intentional community in a calm, informal, and welcoming setting at Mallard Creek Recreation Center in Charlotte. Participants can connect with peers and explore the therapeutic benefits of music with the option to take part alongside their babies. Each 60-minute session is guided by a lead facilitator with support from local practitioners and includes live sound healing, optional guided movement, infant-focused play, and reflective activities for caregivers. This session features sound healing by Amara of Mother Holistic Healings. Amara is a mother of three, a full-spectrum doula, and a perinatal yoga instructor who integrates sound healing into postpartum care. Her sound bath meditations are designed to help regulate the nervous system, support emotional release, and encourage gentle healing, offering a space for mothers to rest, restore, and reconnect with themselves after birth. Caregivers are welcome to bring familiar comfort items such as floor mats, yoga mats, or bolsters if desired, and ample chair seating will be available.
