Explore Nevada’s past on a 90-minute guided walking tour of the former Nevada State Prison, a National Register of Historic Places landmark that operated from 1862 to 2012. Volunteers from the Nevada State Prison Preservation Society lead visitors through cell blocks, the execution chamber, the sandstone quarry, and other notable areas while sharing accounts of notorious inmates, daring escapes, Ice Age fossil discoveries, and the unique, prison-run casino.
