Diaby began playing jembe at a young age under the guidance of his brother Moustapha, later joining Africa Djole and touring widely as lead drummer for Les Merveilles de Guinea, including an extended period in Sierra Leone. He received encouragement from Mamady Keita and praise from Kemoko Sano of Les Ballet Africains. His work in the United States has included a performance at New York City’s Symphony Space, directing the Guinea style troupe Africa Sogaye in Atlanta, and organizing the WAH WAH Drum and Dance Conference. He continues to teach and tour across the United States, Canada, and Europe, promoting the music and culture of Guinea.

Presented by Rochester Entertainment and The Montage Music Hall, Legend Zeppelin delivers a tribute to Led Zeppelin that focuses on the gear, attitude, and musicianship of the band’s earliest 1969 tours. The performance moves through the group’s history up to 1980, introducing songs as they emerged and building the stage presence along the way, culminating in a nod to the U.S. tour that never happened.
