Join the Battle of the Books, a county-wide trivia competition for young adults representing their public library. Teams will answer questions based on six different books and earn points for correct answers. Registration is required, and the event is set for students entering grades 6 through 9. Teams must be ready for meetings and a summer of reading fun.

Four Way Street performs outdoors in the library parking lot. Please bring a chair for comfortable seating. If the weather turns rainy, the performance will move indoors. This free event is open to all.

Settle in with beach chairs and blankets and enjoy Rolling Stones classics performed by Streetfighter at the Long Beach Pavilion on the shores of Smithtown Bay.

The Ward Melville Heritage Organization brings back Pop-Up Saturdays in Stony Brook Village, a six-part series of free, family-friendly experiences filled with animals, music, art, and magic. Activities take place in the Village’s Inner Court near Crazy Beans and the Waterfall Garden. The lineup features Hope for Cleo Animal Rescue, Magic of Amore, Uncle Tony’s Reptile Shack, Animal Rescue Fund of the Hamptons, Storytelling Princesses, Sweetbriar Nature Center, Poetry in Stony Brook, and caricature artist Marty Macaluso. Events are planned rain or shine, with weather-related updates shared on WMHO’s website and social media. Sponsored by Suffolk County Legislator Steve Englebright, the office of Economic Development and Planning, and Apple Bank. A summer of interactive fun for all ages.

At Stony Brook Village, a community celebration of poetry features readings by Suffolk County Poet Laureate Chip Williford alongside local voices. An open mic invites additional poets to share their work. Creative crafts and giveaways add a festive touch to the gathering.

Enjoy a lively family performance of Disney's Moana Jr. Follow Moana as she sets sail across the Pacific to save her village and uncover the truth about her heritage. Along the way, Moana and the legendary demigod Maui go on an epic journey of self discovery and friendship, with an uplifting message about bravery and selflessness.

Presented by the Salvadoran American Chamber of Commerce, this celebration of Salvadoran American Day is billed as one of Long Island’s largest Salvadoran cultural gatherings with free admission. The festival highlights tradition and community with savory pupusas, live music and entertainment, and family friendly activities. Guests will find cultural showcases alongside vendors and community organizations, a lively pupusa eating contest, and opportunities for small businesses to connect with neighbors. It is a welcoming, community focused event centered on heritage, flavor, and fun.

The lineup includes One Step Ahead, The Band EASY Street, The Precisions, Radio Active, The Rustlers, Sweet Ride Long Island, and Just Sixties. In case of rain, concerts will be canceled. Kickline Camp is a dance camp focused on building kickline technique and performance skills. Campers will work on kicks, turns, flexibility, timing, choreography, and overall performance quality. It’s open to dancers in grades 2 through 12, and sessions run in the evenings Monday through Friday.
