Patchogue Theatre for the Performing Arts, 71 E Main St, Patchogue · verified Oct 2
    See details

Toad the Wet Sprocket brings Rings: The Acoustic Tour with special guest Willy Porter, a fully unplugged evening shaped by the band’s 40th anniversary project, Rings: The Acoustic Sessions. Years of weaving quiet segments into live sets revealed how deeply fans connected with the songs in a more vulnerable setting, which led to an entire tour dedicated to that intimate sound. Formed in Santa Barbara in 1986 by four friends from a high school theater group, the band built a career on independent spirit, from the $600 home-recorded debut Bread & Circus to a major-label breakout. Fear went platinum and introduced radio staples All I Want and Walk on the Ocean, followed by the platinum Dulcinea with Fall Down and Windmills. Their music threaded through pop culture in shows and films such as Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Dawson’s Creek, Empire Records, and the Friends soundtrack. After reuniting in 2006, the group released New Constellation in 2013 and Starting Now in 2021. The new acoustic album revisits favorites across fourteen tracks, emphasizing warmth, honesty, and growth. Reviewers have praised the vitality of the reimagined arrangements and the enduring strength of Glen Phillips’ voice. Rather than simply stripping songs down, the band rebuilt parts and solos so the material thrives in its new form. The result is an intimate celebration of four decades of songwriting and connection.

    The Last Waltz Celebration

Patchogue Theatre for the Performing Arts, 71 E Main St, Patchogue · verified Oct 2
    See details

A salute to The Band’s legendary farewell at San Francisco’s Winterland Ballroom, this concert retraces the music and spirit of that historic night, when collaborators like Bob Dylan, Eric Clapton, Neil Young, Van Morrison, Joni Mitchell, and Ronnie Hawkins shared the stage, later documented in Martin Scorsese’s film The Last Waltz. Gary Solomon, co-founder of The THE BAND Band who attended the original concert, channels that inspiration with a two-part program. It begins with The THE BAND Band performing favorites from The Band, followed by a brief intermission. The second set may include a multimedia tribute to The Band and The Last Waltz, then a rotating lineup of musicians, many of whom front respected tribute groups, performs songs tied to the artists who appeared in the original show. Past performances have featured surprise cameos from nationally known guests such as Tom Chapin with the Chapin Sisters, Rex Fowler of Aztec Two-Step, and fiddler Larry Packer, who played with The Band at The Last Waltz, and the evening culminates with the entire ensemble together for a grand finale. Since 2007, The THE BAND Band has presented over 400 shows around the United States, and since 2012 has brought The Last Waltz Celebration to audiences more than 50 times.

At Patchogue Theatre for the Performing Arts in Patchogue, NY, part one of Zebra Weekend showcases Zebra’s 50th Anniversary Tour, with special guests Midnight Sun performing music by Led Zeppelin. Formed in 1975 in New Orleans, the band has stayed together for nearly five decades, continuing to evolve while drawing devoted listeners and new fans. Original members Randy Jackson, Felix Hanemann, and Guy Gelso remain at the helm. Rising from a reputation as a powerhouse cover act in the New Orleans bar scene, Zebra moved into the Long Island club circuit to be closer to major studios and labels. Years of relentless gigging, sometimes reaching 250 shows annually, produced two demo tapes that earned airplay on WBAB-FM in New York and WRNO-FM in New Orleans, notably for “Who’s Behind the Door?” Their momentum led to a 1982 signing with Atlantic Records. The self-titled debut, produced by Jack Douglas, went gold and became the label’s quickest selling debut, moving more than 75,000 copies in its first week, spending eight months on the Billboard charts, and peaking at number 29. Extensive touring followed, along with three studio albums, a live album, and a best-of collection, and a new release is underway to mark the 50th year. This concert highlights a milestone for a band committed to keeping classic rock alive, complemented by a Led Zeppelin set from Midnight Sun.
