The program spotlights guitarist and composer Pete McCann, whose decades of experience shape a voice that bridges straight ahead traditions, modern creative currents, and rhythmically rich ideas. McCann, a New York based performer, composer, and educator, has appeared onstage and on record with David Liebman, Kenny Werner, Joey Baron, and the Maria Schneider Orchestra, and he has released numerous projects as both a leader and a collaborator. The set features original material, open improvisation, and energetic group interplay, grounded in contemporary jazz with a focus on modern rhythmic exploration. The performance is outdoors and chairs are provided. If it rains, the concert will be canceled. This concert will be recorded for future broadcast on WLIW-FM.
