    Walking With Ghosts

Cleveland · Playhouse Square, 1501 Euclid Ave

Paranormal researcher, television host, and author Amy Bruni leads a live, spooky season presentation that peels back the curtain on the true hauntings behind some of the most famous horror movies. She investigates each case through historical context, eyewitness testimony, and evidence documented at the locations themselves. The discussion explores the real stories tied to The Conjuring, Annabelle, The Shining, and The Amityville Horror, asking how a family’s demonic encounter compares with what appears on screen, whether Ed and Lorraine Warren truly kept a sinister doll, how Stephen King’s stay at the Stanley Hotel influenced spectral legends, and what the Lutz family reported, from levitating beds to a pig-like figure with glowing red eyes. The program invites audiences to look beyond jump scares and special effects to the people, places, and encounters that shaped these films, where the reality can be even more unsettling than the fiction. In addition to the talk, Bruni presents a traveling mini museum of haunted artifacts and spiritualist memorabilia that attendees can explore and interact with before and after the show. Bruni is an investigator, author, podcaster, entrepreneur, and television personality whose interest in the supernatural began in childhood, growing up in a home believed to be haunted with a family that accepted their ghostly housemates.

Guided by the belief that dance expresses the human spirit for people of every ability, Dancing Wheels has grown into one of the nation’s premier arts and disability organizations. Founder Mary Verdi-Fletcher, the first professional wheelchair dancer in the United States, established the company in Cleveland in 1980 to open the world of dance to people with disabilities. Since then, its performances, school assemblies, residencies, and workshops have reached more than 6.5 million people, with additional audiences through appearances on CNN, Good Morning America, and the television special Christopher Reeve: A Celebration of Hope. As part of Professional Flair Inc., a 501(c)(3) arts and disabilities organization, the company tours internationally, advocates for disability awareness, and shares a repertoire of 90 works by nationally esteemed choreographers with approximately 30,000 to 50,000 people each year.

A Puertas Abiertas de Patricia Suarez

    Cleveland · LatinUs Blackbox Theater, 2937 W 25th St

A play by Patricia Suárez, directed by Eddy Díaz Souza, places three women in a peculiar reading room that serves as an intellectual purgatory. Orietta, a strict school principal, and Ulrike, an actress determined to be acknowledged, fulfill their punishments under the watch of Dr. Recayente, an ophthalmologist who examines their eyes and assigns books as part of their sentence. The routine fractures with the arrival of Marina, whose suicide pact with her lover did not unfold as intended, and their confessions expose the choices that brought them to this shared hell. Loosely inspired by Jean-Paul Sartre’s No Exit, the piece reshapes the existential premise with biting irony and absurd turns, revealing how guilt, identity, and unfinished business tangle their fates. Talk of open doors to reincarnation suggests a possible return to Earth, prompting questions about escape, responsibility, and whether leaving is truly better than staying. What begins as confinement turns into a darkly comic exploration of punishment and the hope of a second chance.

The seventh week hosts group elimination finals with three games per round using the same scoring, the top two from each group advance, and a final four plays one last round to determine placements.
