Family events in Chillicothe, OH

This weekly community bicycle ride sets off from Circleville Elementary School for a relaxed 7 mile round trip to the Ohio Christian University campus and back. The route stays on city sidewalks and bike paths to keep things comfortable for kids and newer riders. All ages and experience levels are welcome, the pace is no drop, and the atmosphere is friendly and low key. Participants should bring a bike and helmet.

A zoo-inspired attraction arrives at Tractor Supply Co. in Circleville, featuring hyper realistic animatronic animals including lions, tigers, elephants, pandas and monkeys, a 40 foot king cobra that breathes smoke, and new dinosaurs. Signature Deep Dish Cookies are part of the experience. Attendees will find a virtual reality aquarium, soft play areas for kids to climb and crawl, fossil dig pits, face painting and temporary tattoos, and many photo opportunities. Admission is tied to a cookie purchase for each person, priced at $5 per cookie or six for $25, with no age-based exceptions. Some elements, such as virtual reality, face painting and souvenirs, carry additional charges. Giveaways take place leading up to the event, with winners announced on the organizer’s Facebook page.

The final 2026 Summer Night Cruise-In takes place at McDonald's in Chillicothe. Enjoy door prizes, music, and Split the Pot as this friendly gathering brings the summer Cruise-In events to a close for the year.

At the Chillicothe Farmers’ Market, the Ross County Park District presents W.O.W. On The Prowl, a mobile trailer experience that brings nature directly to the community. The district, which manages 10 parks and trails across the county, is announcing an additional offering through this traveling program. The experience is appropriate for all ages. If you or a family member has audio or visual sensitivities, please inform staff before entering the trailer so accommodations can be provided.

Coffee & Chat is a weekly gathering on Saturday mornings at the Library Annex. Enjoy friendly conversation over complimentary coffee and snacks. The event is open to all ages, and allies are welcome.
