Bethany College celebrates Homecoming 2026 with the theme Back to the Future. A chartered bus trip to New York City offers a chance to experience Central Park in the fall. Organized by the women of Meadowbrook Church of God, this red-eye ride skips the hotel and provides about 14 to 15 hours in the city for independent exploring. Enjoy Washington and Greene Counties’ Annual Covered Bridge Festival with a free visit to Meadowcroft. Walk the Pine Bank Covered Bridge, built in 1871, which originally spanned Tom’s Run in the village of Pine Bank in Greene County. Saved from demolition in 1961 by Meadowcroft founder Albert Miller and moved nearly 70 miles to its current setting, the bridge now serves pedestrians and highlights the craftsmanship of the 19th century. A significant rehabilitation in 2017 preserved its structure and charm at a time when the United States has fewer than 700 of the more than 10,000 covered bridges that once stood. During the festival, admission to the bridge and Meadowcroft’s historic villages is free. Tours of the Rockshelter are available for $5 per person. Please note that the Pine Bank Covered Bridge is open to pedestrians only and does not permit vehicles.

The annual Irish Road Bowling Festival is planned, a celebration of the sport and its tradition.

Indestructible, a Pittsburgh based jazz sextet led by trombonist Reggie Watkins, honors the legacy of Art Blakey and The Jazz Messengers with music by Wayne Shorter, Lee Morgan, Curtis Fuller, Cedar Walton, and others. The ensemble features master drummer Roger Humphries, who was mentored early in his career by his godfather Art Blakey, creating a direct connection to this storied tradition. The Jazz Messengers shaped modern jazz for more than three decades, beginning in the 1950s and continuing until Blakey’s passing in 1990. Indestructible channels that spirit with propulsive swing, blues soaked improvisation, polished arrangements, and the excitement of a big band feel. The lineup includes Michael Tomaro on saxophone, Tommy Lehman on trumpet, Howie Alexander on piano, Jordan McBride on bass, and other standout regional musicians.
