Celebrate a long-running tradition of Marx toys and trains at this 27th annual gathering that welcomes both collectors and sellers. Dealers can reserve up to four tables, with preregistration priced at $40 for the first table and $30 for each additional table, and a $60 rate available at the door. A dedicated dealer set-up period takes place before the show opens to the public, and tables will be ready in advance for those who prefer to get started during museum hours. Sellers are invited to bring any type of toys and trains. A Show and Tell offers a chance to showcase a standout piece, and those interested in giving a talk or presentation can coordinate with the organizers.

Flow Yoga

Experience a slow flow vinyasa session with Kylie Ignace in the upstairs community space at Appalachian Homestead. This donation-based class is accessible to everyone, and no experience is needed. Girls Free STEMpowerment Summer Academy

YWCA Wheeling offers a no-cost, weeklong overnight STEM camp at Linsly School for girls entering ninth and tenth grades. This immersive program blends hands-on learning with real-world exploration. Participants experiment with the science behind cosmetics by making a product, visit Oglebay Zoo and explore hydroponics through a farm to table lens, and take daily trips to workplaces where science, technology, engineering, and math are used every day. Outdoor games and team challenges add to the experience while building confidence and leadership, and there is time to form lasting friendships. Meals are included, and supervision is provided by YWCA staff. Enrollment is free and capacity is limited.

100 Years Later: Celebrating the Life of Earl W. Oglebay

At Oglebay Mansion Museum, a free program looks back on the life and legacy of Earl W. Oglebay, a civic leader and philanthropist closely tied to Waddington Farm and Oglebay Park. The presentation traces his beginnings in Wheeling, his rise to become among the youngest bank presidents in the country, and his influence across business, agriculture, and education. Readings from his personal letters include a vivid account of his swift departure from Europe as World War I began. Rare photos, archival records, and artifacts from the museum’s collection add depth to the story, offering a fuller picture of the individual whose generosity continues to shape the Ohio Valley.

At Lunch With Books at the Ohio County Public Library, Tony G. Paree shares how a rediscovered bowl in his basement filled with vivid matchbooks and covers from places he visited or collected set him on a path to explore Wheeling’s past. These pocket-sized designs promoted restaurants, bars, banks, factories, and other local businesses that once energized the Upper Ohio Valley. A Wheeling native, Paree worked for 45 years at Crone's Clothiers and became a dedicated collector of local memorabilia with a focus on preserving everyday history. His publications include Victorian Trade Cards of Wheeling from 2014 and Real Photo Postcards of Wheeling from 2019.

Wheeling Park Football: The First Fifty Years

Longtime educator Pete Chacalos visits Lunch With Books at the Ohio County Public Library to talk about his new coffee table book on Wheeling Park High School football. Spanning the program’s origins in 1976 through the 2025 season, the book is arranged decade by decade and built from the recollections of players, coaches, and support staff. The presentation explores rivalries, All-State performers, notable opponents, memorable victories and key plays, as well as team and individual records from the program’s first fifty years.

Voices of Hope - Discover Recovery

At WesBanco Arena, YWCA Wheeling, Youth Services System, and the Ohio County IMPACT Coalition unite to support relatives and friends of people affected by substance misuse. This community gathering connects attendees with helpful resources, education, and a network that understands. The event includes a resource fair with opportunities to meet local organizations and support services, along with brief trainings such as how to administer Naloxone to reverse an overdose. A Voices of Hope gathering offers space to remember loved ones, share personal stories, and stand together in recovery. Admission is free and the entire community is invited. Whether seeking support, information, or a better understanding of available services, all are welcome.
