Sign-ups are available for bringing chili or other supplies, and there are opportunities to host a decorated trunk.

Shop with Friends is an annual indoor craft and vendor market where visitors can get a jump on Christmas shopping or simply enjoy the fall atmosphere. The event takes place entirely inside, so weather is not an issue, and wide aisles make it easy to navigate with strollers, creating a family-friendly experience. Browse offerings from over 50 crafters and vendors. Admission is $2, and food and beer will be available for purchase.

Whitman’s Bike Shop hosts a free, family-friendly Halloween celebration in downtown Saint Paris, filling the afternoon with festive activities, live entertainment, plenty of food, and shopping. Highlights include trick-or-treating with participating vendors and organizations, high-energy live wrestling from Khaos United, a craft and vendor marketplace with handmade goods and boutique finds, a kids zone with games and creative projects, Luna Belle’s cake walk, DJ-spun music, and themed photo opportunities. Community organizations and local businesses will be on hand throughout. An extensive food truck lineup offers choices for every craving, including LaGranja Mexican, Cousins Maine Lobster, Schmidt’s Sausage Truck, Wilson’s Rollin Shmoke LLC, Fat Hammies LLC, Pita Hut Grill, New Orleans Grill, Bacon. Cowvin, the youngest of the Cow Family, has put together a family friendly corn maze at Young’s Jersey Dairy that stretches across more than three and a half acres with over a mile of winding paths. The maze runs through the cornfield with plenty of twists, turns, and dead ends, and it concludes at a playland filled with activities for kids. Admission is $10 for ages 5 and up, and children 4 and under are free. Children 11 and under must be with an adult. The ticket price includes a wagon ride to and from the maze, and tickets are available at Young’s Farmstead Cheese Marketplace inside The Dairy Store.

Kids take center stage during a dedicated evening at The Social at Piqua Center, with mocktails made for kids, interactive craft projects, and a high-energy atmosphere that sparks creativity. Explore Woodland by the glow of lanterns on a historic tour through one of the nation’s oldest rural cemeteries. The route includes the resting places of the Wright Brothers, Paul Laurence Dunbar, Erma Bombeck, James Ritty, George Newcom, and members of the Stanley and Mead families, along with other well known and lesser known Daytonians. This tour also serves as an alternative for those who missed the History, Mystery, Mayhem and Murder Tours. Reservations are required, and a suggested $10 donation supports the Woodland Arboretum Foundation and its restoration, preservation, horticultural, and educational projects that keep Woodland a cultural resource for Dayton and Ohio.

This toddler-focused storytime features brief, playful books selected to hold the attention of little readers and build excitement for reading.

This final session of the year offers a welcoming family build night created for families of individuals with special needs. In the community room, kids can focus on social interaction while bringing their own LEGO creations to life. Tables are stocked with bins of loose bricks so there is plenty of space to build and chat. Siblings are encouraged to take part and can connect with other siblings who share similar family experiences. The building is wheelchair accessible. Lighting cannot be dimmed or covered. If a creation is going home, it is priced at $1 per ounce. Otherwise, pieces are returned to sanitized bins for future use. A separate Family Bingo Build Night is available for all ages. This offering is available at the Kettering location only.

During Downtown Trick or Treat, there will be vendors, a DJ providing music for dancing, and a witches’ costume contest. The Witch Dance will be performed at the top of every hour throughout the event.
