The Oklahoma City Walk for Apraxia is a free community gathering at Pat Murphy Park that celebrates children with childhood apraxia of speech and the people who support them. Families, friends, and professionals come together to recognize their Apraxia Stars, connect with one another, and raise awareness in a welcoming setting. Organizers aim to provide a safe, fun, and memorable experience for groups of supporters, with additional event details to be shared closer to the day. Registration is free. Participants can work toward individual fundraising incentives, including the official event t-shirt for registered walkers who raise $50. All registered Apraxia Stars receive a free shirt and medal, and each Star is acknowledged individually with a certificate. Funds raised support the programs of Apraxia Kids, which focus on educating families and professionals, strengthening community outreach and engagement, and investing in advocacy and research. The walk offers a space where children with apraxia of speech and their families feel understood and supported, helping make apraxia better known so kids can access the care they need.

The Farmers Market at Scissortail Park is a seasonal outdoor marketplace limited to producers who sell what they raise, grow, or make themselves. Visitors will find an extensive mix of fresh fruits and vegetables, baked treats, meats, and handmade goods from vendors known for quality and service. Set within Scissortail Park by the Promenade, the location adds to the appeal. The market takes place on Saturdays throughout the season and also includes a special spring preview. Presented with support from Bank of Oklahoma, Renewal by Andersen of Oklahoma, and Midtown Renaissance.

DogFest OKC gathers dogs, families and friends at Bungalow 23 in Oklahoma City for a lively celebration of the bond between people and their pups. Enjoy music, interactive games and activities, local vendors, and refreshments with local beer and food. Kids and canines can join in the fun, and service dog demonstrations showcase the remarkable skills that support everyday independence. Taking place during National Service Dog Month, this festival raises funds and awareness for Canine Companions and its mission to enhance the lives of children, adults and veterans with disabilities through expertly trained service dogs. Registered dogs receive a DogFest bandana for a festive touch.

Nail trims are available for $10, with foster pets receiving trims at no cost. Dogs, cats, rabbits, guinea pigs, and ferrets are welcome. No appointment is needed, and pets must be leashed or safely contained. Cash and cards are accepted.

Up to Spec returns as a monthly meet with free admission, celebrating 10 years of 4DRRCKT and bringing the OKC car and bike community together at Auto Hail Logistics for an energetic evening of builds, culture, and connection. Developed in collaboration with Autism Oklahoma, this free, sensory-aware fitness program offers a predictable, supportive setting for neurodivergent adults. Activities focus on building physical strength and coordination, supporting emotional regulation, encouraging social interaction skills, and enhancing overall quality of life. To promote comfort and focus, sessions take place at the Santa Fe Family Life Center during a quieter interval with reduced stimulation. Participation is free for neurodivergent adults.

Kids Bowl Free offers two free games for kids every day throughout the summer. It is a family-friendly way to spend time together and create lasting memories at no cost. More than 1,300 locations participate in the program, and over 40 million families have taken part, making it a long-standing summer tradition.

Kick off Socktober at Red Coyote OKC with hands-on demos from Jogology, Shokz, and Ucan. The Red Coyote Run Club in OKC, formerly known as Pack Pint Run, hosts a friendly, free social run, walk, or jog that welcomes all abilities, along with dogs and strollers. The route is about three miles, starting at the Red Coyote OKC location, heading through Nichols Hills, and returning to RC OKC. Participants must complete a waiver, which can also be acknowledged by checking in through the Red Coyote app. A light for visibility is required. Those who would like a beer must show a valid ID, and outside beer is not allowed. Checking in through the app also earns points for taking part.
