Built over more than two years, this fully supported tournament system has already seen play at high levels, including Rivalry of Warlords decks at a World Championship Qualifier that were built using Genesys rules, and it is slated for broader visibility at YCS events. Gameplay follows standard Duel rules with a few key changes to deck construction. Link and Pendulum Monsters are not used, the classic field returns without Extra Monster Zones or Pendulum Zones, and there is no Forbidden and Limited List. Decks are created with a point system where certain powerful cards carry a point cost while most cards cost nothing, and every Duelist builds within the same total to level the playing field and emphasize battle-driven action. Organizers can set the point cap to fit the day, with 100 as a common baseline, or they can raise it for more power cards or lower it to tone things down. The Norman Out of the Darkness Walk is a community event at Ruby Grant Park in Norman that benefits the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention.
