Built over more than two years, this fully supported tournament system has already seen play at high levels, including Rivalry of Warlords decks at a World Championship Qualifier that were built using Genesys rules, and it is slated for broader visibility at YCS events. Gameplay follows standard Duel rules with a few key changes to deck construction. Link and Pendulum Monsters are not used, the classic field returns without Extra Monster Zones or Pendulum Zones, and there is no Forbidden and Limited List. Decks are created with a point system where certain powerful cards carry a point cost while most cards cost nothing, and every Duelist builds within the same total to level the playing field and emphasize battle-driven action. Organizers can set the point cap to fit the day, with 100 as a common baseline, or they can raise it for more power cards or lower it to tone things down. The format welcomes anyone looking for a simpler approach, players who are new to the game, Duelists eager to make a favorite strategy more competitive, builders who love a creative challenge, and everyone who simply wants more Dueling fun.

After the reading, the group will watch the movie and talk about the differences between book and film.

The Norman Out of the Darkness Walk is a community event at Ruby Grant Park in Norman that benefits the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. It brings together people impacted by suicide to raise awareness, honor those lost, and support AFSP’s work to save lives and provide hope. Early arrival is recommended for check-in and a bead ceremony, and community resource tables will be available before and after the walk. The atmosphere is welcoming and family friendly. There is no fee to participate, and fundraising is encouraged to help fund AFSP’s education, research, advocacy, and support programs. Registration will open soon, with more details to follow.
