The Get Down: Sunday Morning Dance

Kismet Collective, 5401 S Sheridan Rd, Tulsa
    See details

Step into a music-led dance session built around songs that move you. The moment you enter, the soundtrack is already flowing, beginning with gentler tracks that help you arrive, breathe, and set the outside world aside. From there, the set carries the room through waves of movement, playfulness, heat, softness, and a grounded close. There is no choreography and no prior dance experience required. Follow what your body wants. Stretch, sweat, shake, sing if you like, rest on the floor, or do almost nothing. You can move big or small, stay low, face a wall, take breaks whenever you need, and let the music meet you where you are. The floor is held as a focused, respectful environment so everyone can move without being watched, filmed, interrupted, or pressured. Phones and cameras stay off the floor, conversations are kept outside, and street shoes are not worn. Practice consent with others by waiting for a clear yes before approaching someone to dance and honoring a no right away. Capacity is limited to 20. Walk-ins are welcome, and advance registration is available if you want to secure a spot. Wear comfortable clothing and bring water. Come as you are, and move as you are.
