Parishioners of St. Peter’s Episcopal Church in Blairsville offer a free laundry outreach that has supported families for more than a decade, welcoming anyone who is facing financial strain, whether it happens regularly or only once in a while. Volunteers are easy to spot in red shirts that say Laundry Love or black shirts that read Laundry is Liturgy. The effort partners with the E&F Norge Laundromat and typically takes place on the second Sunday each month unless that day is a holiday. When needed, other times can often be arranged by request. Blairsville Alliance Church’s Vacation Bible School assembled four laundry baskets filled with individually decorated bags containing laundry pods, dryer sheets, and a Bible verse. Ongoing appreciation is extended to the patrons whose generosity, perseverance, and faith continue to inspire each month.

Presented by the Baker Mansion History Museum, the season finale of the Sunday on the Lawn concert series features a live performance by the Altoona Area High School Student Band. Admission is free and open to the public, and donations are welcome.
