This annual, two day juried fine arts festival transforms Uptown Mt. Lebanon into a lively hub for creativity. The Mt. Lebanon Partnership presents this outdoor event, bringing together between 60 and 80 professional artists who showcase original handmade work across many mediums, including two dimensional art, jewelry, wood, sculpture, glass, ceramics, fiber and wearable pieces, mixed media, leather, and metal. Visitors can also explore a curated mix of food vendors and enjoy live entertainment all weekend long. Cash awards and artist incentives help draw exceptional talent from across the region.

At Lake Carnegie in Highland Park, this family-friendly fishing event with Fishburgh welcomes beginners, young anglers, and anyone interested in the fundamentals in a relaxed, supportive setting. Participants will practice casting, learn how to bait a hook, identify fish, handle catches safely, and explore how to care for the waterways in and around Pittsburgh. Bring a positive attitude and some patience. The next cast could be the one that lands a catch. Instruction is led by Phillip Papa, founder of Fishburgh Outdoors and a certified Fishing Skills Instructor with the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission. Fishing gear and bait are provided. Registered participants do not need a fishing license during the event. Please obtain a ticket for each participant so planning for equipment, supplies, and volunteers is accurate.

Rennerdale marks the re-opening of the community duck pond with a block party at the Rennerdale Volunteer Fire Department’s Duck Pond. Highlights include a kids fishing derby that requires advance registration, inflatable bounce houses, fire safety demonstrations, and food trucks. Live music comes from Pittsburgh’s Analog Dogs during the festivities.

VC2 Street Studio transforms the Bakery Square Courtyard into a live, interactive art pop-up led by Pittsburgh artist VC2 Art (Vincent Candelore). Way Dynamic, the solo project of Melbourne musician Dylan Young, brings a warm, artful set to The Funhouse at Mr. Smalls with special guest Star Moles. Young’s third album, Massive Shoe, is on the way and blends minimalist folk pop, art rock, and baroque pop, with playful songwriting and bright, layered sonics. He produced much of it himself and draws on experience from Cool Sounds and Good Morning, along with drumming work for Snowy Band and Kankawa Nagarra. This event is open to all ages.

This monthly meetup brings together Pittsburgh songwriters, producers, and musicians to share works in progress and talk about the craft. Attendees can bring a finished track, a demo, or a rough idea to play for the group. Everyone listens, offers feedback, and explores songwriting, production, and mixing. All styles and experience levels are welcome. The gathering includes time to workshop songs, trade tips on writing, producing, and mixing, connect with local artists and potential collaborators, and hear what people in the community are creating. Participants may bring the tools they use to make music, such as instruments, laptops, MPCs, or anything used for writing or production.
