Live music in Coventry, RI

Now in its fourth year, this multi-day line dance gathering takes place at Crowne Plaza Providence-Warwick (Airport) with workshops led by internationally recognized instructors alongside local instructors from across the Northeast. Dancers at every level, from beginners to advanced, can rotate through five daytime workshop rooms, with a classics session offered each hour, then continue in three ballrooms each evening. Special guests include Scott Blevins and Ria Vos. The teaching team features John Robinson, Rosie Multari, Cody Flowers, Rhoda Lai, Dancin' Dean, Rona Kaye, Dan and Kelly Albro, Rob Holley, Lynne Martino, Chris Jacques, Bradley Mather, and Steve Lescarbeau. Music comes from five DJs, Craig Statt, Tina Foster, Mike Diven, Rebecca Fulford, and Mary Kaye Johnson. The hotel sits just off I-95 and about a mile from the TF Green Providence airport in Warwick, Rhode Island. The event is directed by Steve and Laurie Cavanaugh, Jill Weiss, and Kevin Fritz. A previous edition drew more than 400 dancers.

A weekly Thursday series from 2nd To None celebrates the season in the city. It continues in any weather and includes a complete menu from the outdoor grill.

The Parlour Providence hosts a lineup featuring Mad Caddies with The Supervillains and Joey Harkum. Mad Caddies are long associated with California’s third wave of ska, and their music blends bright, buoyant ska with touches of reggae, punk, pop, surf, and even traditional jazz. Over the years they have carried this versatile sound to stages around the globe. In 2018 they released Punk Rocksteady, a covers collection honoring four decades of punk, reimagining twelve songs in their own style.

Karaoke fills Tulum Mexican Restaurant & Cantina with big voices and an upbeat vibe. The mic is open for everything from soaring ballads to 90s throwbacks and more. There is no cover, and the restaurant and cantina serve food and cocktails. These karaoke nights take place on Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays.

The Old Fiddlers Club brings a lively set of traditional tunes to the Brooklyn Fair. The performance features melodies handed down through generations, creating an energetic, timeless soundtrack for a day at the fair. Fairgoers can pause to listen and enjoy the spirit of traditional fiddling.

Salsa on the Bridge brings an open-air Latin dance experience to the Providence Pedestrian Bridge in collaboration with Del Alma Dance Company. Everyone is welcome, from newcomers to seasoned dancers, and no partner is needed. Expect upbeat music, plenty of social dancing, and a welcoming community vibe with views of the Providence skyline. Comfortable shoes, positive energy, and a love of rhythm and movement are encouraged.

This free summer concert at Coventry Town Hall Annex is part of a series showcasing local musicians. Attendees can bring a blanket or lawn chair to relax during the show. Entry opens half an hour before the music begins, and if it rains the performance shifts to Sunday. Food is available from Wicked Cheesy, LLC through the season’s dedicated food truck.

Track 15 hosts a summer-long Friday evening series that mixes performances by local musicians with contributions from poets, makers, painters, and others. Spanning a twenty week run, it spotlights Rhode Island creativity in a relaxed, welcoming setting. Food from local vendors and cold beverages create a picnic style vibe, and the lawn offers a comfortable place to take in a single set or linger for the entire night. Admission is free and open to all ages, with a strong focus on homegrown talent.

The Buzz sets a summertime soundtrack at Marasco’s with a performance that also supports a fundraiser for CLCF Football. Everyone is welcome to attend, and participation in the fundraising effort is optional.

RED LIGHT brings a high-energy party to Center Stage at The Brooklyn Fairgrounds with a tribute to party rock that spans modern country rock, classic rock, and pop rock. Honored as one of CT’s top bands for more than ten years, the group features three dynamic lead vocalists, four-part harmonies, a tight rhythm section with a big backbeat, and hard-driving guitars. The set is built to keep the crowd moving from start to finish, and the fair atmosphere, complete with food and rides, adds to the fun. Once the red light flips on, the party begins.

Qualifying Round 4 of the Battle of the Bands takes place at Medici, where four bands compete for a spot in the PVD Fest final that will determine this year's winner. The lineup features Teevio and the Aces, Ike Dee + the 3, The XTet, and Secert Joy. The venue offers food and features a cocktail menu.

Roc-Kin’-On returns to the Brooklyn Fair for a high-energy show on the Center Stage. The set features live music, room to dance, and plenty of fair food to enjoy with friends.

The Murder Junkies are back at Alchemy with a bill that also features The Frenzy of Tongs and Typhoid Mary Scumbari. The show brings all three acts together on one stage.

Karaoke takes center stage at The Black Sheep Providence with an open mic that welcomes every kind of singer, from first timers to full-on divas. Bring your crew, grab a drink, and turn an ordinary night into a Friday-worthy celebration.

Par and Tackle hosts Music Bingo with Shoener Entertainment, open to dedicated music fans as well as anyone simply looking to unwind and have fun. Reservations are recommended.
