Experience Rhode Island agriculture at a weekly farmers market set within Goddard Memorial State Park. Shop directly from local farms and producers while getting to know the people who grow your vegetables, fruit, flowers, and favorite foods. Early in the season, the selection centers on bedding and hanging plants, fresh-cut flowers, meats, early vegetables, honey, and maple syrup. This free one and a half hour show highlights the group’s three part harmonies, lively acoustic guitar rhythms, and rich bass, spanning familiar favorites from Friday I’m In Love to Ventura Highway for an upbeat atmosphere. Parking is available in the City Hall lot. Canned goods and other non perishable food items will be collected to support the Blackstone Valley Food Center and their efforts to combat hunger in the Blackstone Valley area. Performances may be canceled if inclement weather is expected, with a possible reschedule. Free introductory West Coast Swing lessons bring beginner friendly dancing to the Michael S. Van Leesten Memorial Bridge in Providence as part of the Providence Fitness in the Parks series. Led by First on the Floor, the session welcomes newcomers and returning dancers alike, with no partner or prior experience needed. A social dance follows the lesson beneath the sunset and city lights, and donations are appreciated for the social portion. The season includes occasional themed nights that keep the experience fresh for the community. Participants are encouraged to arrive a little early to check in and complete the required Providence Parks Activities Waiver, or to handle the waiver in advance. On select dates the free beginner lesson may pause for special events or holidays, while social dancing or alternative programming may still take place. Part of a summer mini market series, this pop up in the Shri Yoga parking lot brings together a selection of local producers. The market accepts Fresh Bucks with SNAP/EBT and Bonus Bucks, along with WIC FMNP and Senior FMNP benefits. Under the Sun Farm offers a produce CSA for pickup at the market. Free on-site parking is available.

Illusionist David Garrity delivers a free, one-hour show of magic and illusion, hosted by the Parks and Recreation Division with support from Coastal Credit Union, My Greene Team, Pamela Hughes, Bandits Baseball Club, Dupuis Oil, and The Washington Trust Company. The performance takes place on the stage located between the Park Office and the Daggett House, across from the tennis courts, and the Slater Park Looff Carousel next to this area will remain open during the event. Garrity has captivated tens of thousands of people worldwide through his illusions. If weather becomes a concern, the performance may be moved to the Slater Park Pavilion. Young artists explore art, reading, and group conversation around themes such as kindness, confidence, respect, and perseverance. Walk-ins are welcome, and registration is appreciated. It is free and welcomes all levels, and no partner or prior experience is required. Bringing water is recommended. Expect a warm, inclusive vibe where people connect through movement in a beautiful public setting.

Clueless screens outdoors as part of Movies on the Block, InDowncity’s free film series at Grant’s Block Park in Downtown Providence. This city tradition began in 2008, returned in 2025 after a six year pause, and continues with a season that ranges from Tempe to Hobbiton. Pack a chair or blanket, as seating is not set up, and space is first come, first served. Presented with support from InDowncity, the downtown small business community, and Cornish Associates, this screening marks the third installment of the summer lineup.

Karaoke takes center stage at Tulum Mexican Restaurant & Cantina, where singers can belt out power ballads, 90s favorites, and more. The atmosphere is lively whether stepping up to the mic or enjoying the performances from the crowd. There is no cover charge, and food and cocktails are available.
