    See details

A women’s Olympic weightlifting meet comes to Savannah, GA with a dual purpose of showcasing strength and supporting Compete for a Cure. Hosted by The Coop Gym, the event donates a portion of every entry to the breast cancer charity, and athletes are encouraged to create personal fundraising pages to share with family and friends. Junior athletes ages 12 to 20 and Masters athletes 40 and older are scored using the Sinclair coefficient, while the Open division for ages 21 to 39 is scored by total from the best snatch plus clean and jerk. New lifters are welcome, and no prior experience is required. Each competitor receives three attempts in the snatch and three in the clean and jerk, with a time limit for each attempt. All athletes must complete check-in, which includes weigh-in and submitting opening attempts, and detailed rules will be provided in advance. Singlets and weightlifting shoes are optional. Typical gym clothing is fine, but shirts or pants that loosely cover the elbows or knees are not allowed. Belts, wrist wraps, thumb tape, and knee sleeves are permitted, while straps are not. Entries close prior to the event and may sell out. There are no refunds, however entries can be transferred to another competitor if a withdrawal is necessary. Athletes under 18 must have a parent or guardian sign the waiver and be present at the competition. Register by the posted free shirt deadline to receive a complimentary shirt.
