Make it easier to reunite with a lost pet with on-site microchipping. The service is $20 per pet and includes registration. Cash, Venmo, PayPal, and major credit or debit cards are accepted, and checks are not accepted. To speed up check-in, fill out a registration form in advance and bring one completed form for each pet to give to the volunteers. Each SmartTag microchip features an anti-migration design that helps it stay in place so it can be easily located and scanned by a shelter or veterinarian. The unique ID on the chip links to your contact information so you can be reached quickly if your pet is found. SmartTag membership also includes 30 days of PetFirst pet insurance as an introductory benefit, and they note they are the only ID tag company to include pet insurance with membership.

The Orion Financial Free Concert Series brings artists from the city, the nation, and abroad to the historic Overton Park Shell, a landmark shaped by generations of celebrated performers. This installment features Shakespeare at the Shell, sharing a story in which a king and three companions swear off romance, then are compelled to welcome a visiting princess and her three attendants. Each man falls in love and sets out to court his match. The women later return to their kingdom for a year, promising marriage if the men remain faithful. Tennessee Shakespeare Company, a professional not-for-profit based in Memphis, is the area’s first and only organization dedicated to live, wide-ranging productions of Shakespeare alongside socially meaningful works by classical, Southern, and modern playwrights and composers, while also providing inventive education, training, and outreach. The company affirms that Shakespeare’s stories belong to everyone, across identities, backgrounds, places, and means. It also champions the idea that Shakespeare should be central to every child’s education and that Memphis and Tennessee merit a world-class professional Shakespeare company. Food trucks will be announced. Guests may bring picnic baskets, coolers, beverages, blankets, and lawn chairs, and food and drinks are available for purchase in the AutoZone Food and Beverage Concourse. Leashed dogs are welcome in designated areas, and the venue is smoke free. Deck parties are available for a VIP-style experience.

Chicago-based vocalist Michaelyn Oby leads a program devoted to the songs of Dinah Washington as part of a series from Strictly Jazz Entertainment. Oby is known for a style that blends vintage elegance with contemporary soul, shaped by roots in Milwaukee and early performing years in Memphis. Her experience includes serving as house vocalist for The Sax on Sunday Jazz Jam, appearing on WUMR 91.7 Jazz Hot Spot, weekly sets at The King’s Palace Cafe on Beale Street, and several years as a featured entertainer aboard the American Queen Steamboat along the Mississippi River and its tributaries. After relocating to Chicago in 2019, she expanded her repertoire with solo shows such as Feeling Good and Lady Sings Ms. Ross, a tribute to Diana Ross. The tribute spotlights Dinah Washington, an American singer and pianist renowned in the 1950s and beyond. Celebrated primarily for jazz yet equally at home in blues, R&B, and traditional pop, she embraced the title Queen of the Blues and was widely called the Queen of the Jukeboxes. Her legacy includes induction into the Alabama Jazz Hall of Fame in 1986 and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1993.
