English Conversation Club provides a relaxed space for adults to practice speaking English and ask questions about vocabulary, expressions, and slang. It is not a formal class. Jeff Ruby brings a free solo acoustic set of original songs to The Red Brick Tavern. The show is open to all ages. An Indiana-born troubadour, Ruby writes from a lifetime of experience, shaping narratives about hard living, social issues, and resilience with a candid voice and quiet grace. Raised on a farm in rural Indiana, he gravitated toward the mood of Seattle grunge and the big melodies of Brit-pop, teaching himself guitar along the way. Early stock market success in college fueled reckless drinking and a shift toward a business degree, which left him burned out and eager to return to music. In 2004 he moved to Orange Beach, Alabama, gave up drinking, started writing songs, and progressed from open mics to paid gigs. He later settled in Nashville with a guitar and a small batch of songs, released his debut EP Beyond The Pale in 2010, and has kept up a steady pace of performances and albums ever since.

Central Library presents Lapsit Storytime, an interactive session of rhymes, songs, and fingerplay activities designed for babies from birth to 18 months and their caregivers. Older siblings may attend if they remain seated. The second half features Stay and Play, with age appropriate toys available for unstructured play. Tickets are required for entry. Fass Brewing hosts free team trivia that spans general knowledge, pop culture, and creative problem solving. Expect prompts such as identifying a character portrayed on television by Benedict Cumberbatch and in film by Robert Downey Jr, naming as many four letter countries as possible, recalling the Beatles album with a color in the title where Ringo Starr sings the title track, and forming a pepper name using only the letters in the phrase Independence Day. Prizes are awarded to the highest scoring teams.
