Begin with an overview of the lake’s unique history and ecology, then spend up to 50 minutes in the water visiting features like Deep Hole, Cream of Wheat Springs, and the Ossified Forest. The clear, spring-fed habitat stays near 72°F and is home to seven threatened and endangered species, along with a legacy of human activity that stretches back thousands of years. All gear is provided and knowledgeable guides lead the tour. A $5 discount is available for military and for Texas State students, staff, and faculty. Space is limited.

Songwriter's Night at The Redbird Listening Room offers a relaxed evening centered on original music. Doors open with a sign-up list available, followed by live performances. It is BYOB with no added fee during songwriter's night, and there is a suggested $10 at the door. Available for purchase are Ramblers, sodas, coffee, and Redbird Charcuterie Plates from Huisache Grill. Bring a song to share, bring a friend, or simply settle in and listen.

PurpleStar Tarot provides tarot readings at the Free Range Farmer's Market at Wake the Dead Coffee House. Visitors can also browse herbal tea mixes, pre-rolled items, burnables, artwork, and stickers.

Set in San Marcos, Texas, this running event features two distances, offering a five mile race and a 5-kilometer option. Participants can choose the challenge that matches their goals, whether they want extra miles or a shorter, faster outing.

Now in its fourteenth year, this Kolache Fest 5K welcomes both runners and walkers on a 5K course. The event is hosted by the Hallettsville Chamber of Commerce & Agriculture.

Riders compete in age-based divisions determined by age as of January 1, 2026, including Leadline and Unassisted for ages 6 and under, Intermediate for ages 7 to 9, Sub Juniors for ages 10 to 13, Juniors for ages 14 to 18, Seniors for ages 19 to 44, and Super Seniors for ages 45 and up.

The Central Texas Walk for Apraxia brings the community together at Dunbar Park for a free event that celebrates Apraxia Stars and raises awareness of childhood apraxia of speech. The experience is planned with safety, fun, and lasting memories in mind, and additional details are expected closer to the event. Registration is free. Registered walkers can work toward individual fundraising incentives, and anyone who raises $50 earns this year’s official Walk for Apraxia t-shirt. Every registered Apraxia Star is honored individually and receives a complimentary shirt, medal, and certificate. Funds raised support the programs of Apraxia Kids, including education for families and professionals, community engagement and outreach, and efforts in advocacy and research. The Texas Pancanal Society Picnic returns to Landa Park, Pavilion #16 in New Braunfels, Texas, continuing a five-year tradition at the same spot. This relaxed gathering provides a familiar park setting where attendees can reconnect and enjoy time together.

Songwriter Kady Rain leads an ongoing course series focused on being true to your voice as a creator. It takes place at Live In The Vibe San Marcos Sober Living Community in San Marcos, Texas, in partnership with Lonely Hearts Art Club. The environment is sober friendly and welcoming to those who are sober curious or respectful of a sober space. The series places intentional support on LGBTQIA+ and POC+ communities and is open to all ages. Be Authentic Now captures the spirit of the sessions, with Kady’s song Love Me Loud providing the background vibe.
