    New Town Festival: Blues, Brews & BBQ

    The Blacksburg Museum & Cultural Foundation presents its annual Blues, Brews and BBQ at St. Luke & Odd Fellows Hall, a nationally recognized historic site that once served as a social hub for New Town, a Black neighborhood during segregation. Members of the Hall Committee offer programs like this to honor the kinds of gatherings that historically took place in the building and in the former New Town community. Beer and wine, barbecue, and sweet treats will be available for purchase from Blue Ridge Beverage and Kirk’s Famous BBQ. The New River Blues Society will be on site with information and event support. Seating is limited, so bringing chairs is encouraged. Admission is free, with a suggested donation of $10. Proceeds support the exhibit redesign at St. Luke & Odd Fellows Hall, ahead of a planned grand reopening. Live performances feature The JoJo Stockton Project, Seedpicker, and Lady D and Mi$$ion. Support for the event includes the National Bank of Blacksburg as stage sponsor, Paul Farrier as music sponsor, and additional backing from Julia and Chris Marin.
